Andrea sent another message. [Are you free to talk on the phone right now? I will give you a call!]
Ivy did not want to hear Andrea's voice and replied. [I'm busy right now.]
[Okay! I don't know what happened to your script, Ivy, but I am certain that I didn't touch it.]
[The manager will look into it. Let's wait for the result!] Ivy replied.
[Okay! Don't let what happened to get to you. I watched the replay of your show and you were brilliant!]
Had Ivy received such a compliment from anyone else, she would have thanked them, but she could not bring herself to thank Andrea and simply ignored the message.
"Ivy, have you talked to your sister?" Avery asked when she saw Ivy walking down the stairs.
"I did. She said that she will be coming home with Eric this New Year's."
"Oh, okay!" Avery beamed. "Don't you need some more rest, Ivy?"
"I can't go back to sleep, Mom." Ivy walked over. "Let's go shopping!"
"Okay."
"I will get changed, then." Ivy hurried up the stairs, and Avery could tell that Ivy was in a great mood.
Just then, Avery’s phone rang and Avery glanced at the screen to find that it was a call from Layla.
She immediately answered the call and Layla said, "Mom, can I ask for your help on something?"
Avery could not help but glance at Elliot, who immediately noticed that something was wrong.
"The two of you haven't done anything out of line, have you?" Avery questioned nervously.
She was not worried that Layla might get pregnant but was concerned for Eric's health as he was still recovering from the heart transplant and would need to rest for at least half a year before he could be intimate with anyone
"What are you talking about, Mom?!" Layla raised her voice. "Do I look like that kind of person to you? The doctors worked so hard to bring him back to life, so I can't possibly do anything to jeopardize his health! I just think that since we are already living together, we might as well just get the paperwork out of the way."
Avery sighed a breath of relief. "If you want your passport, come home and get it."
"Oh... Is Dad home?" Layla asked.
"Yeah! He is right next to me now so he heard every word you said just now," Avery said and shot Elliot a look, spotting the conflicted look on his face.
"When you and Ivy go shopping later, I will stay home and wait for Layla to drop by," Elliot said.
