"Marry him?" Kate mimicked a gagging motion. "Is it because he's older or because he's a quick finish in bed? I'm just keeping him around for his money and connections. Marriage? Please, I'm just toying with him."
"And now he wants to leave his wife for you. If you don't marry him, won't he..."
Kate scoffed, "I never promised him anything. If he wants a divorce, that's his issue, not mine. Do you think I'm the kind of woman who lets a man tie her down? If anyone's going to do that, it’d have to be someone like Casper.”
Allysha finally got it.
This woman still had a thing for Casper.
"But Casper's got a bad reputation. Why are you still hooked on him? Even if you ended up marrying him, he’d still cheat. Could you put up with it like his current wife does?"
For years, Casper paraded around Falconridge with his mistresses, and everyone knew it.
A man like that, faithful? Not likely.
She tried to level with Kate, "Look, if you’re serious about your career, focus on that. If you want a guy, find a rich heir and settle down. Forget all the other nonsense."
"Bianca, you just don't get it." Kate wanted to make the most of her looks while she could. "I'm not much of an actress, and no one's casting me as the lead. Even if they did, I wouldn't win any awards. My looks are my ticket. If I can't marry into a mega-rich family like Casper's, I at least want to make him pay up. He got off too easy when we broke the contract last time."
Allysha couldn't wrap her head around Kate's mindset.
Everyone lives their own way.
She decided to let it be.
"Just don't get in over your head. Casper's the type to turn on you."
Kate was full of confidence, "When have I ever not come out on top? I've always gotten what I want."
"Confidence is great, but remember, Casper's a wolf, not some friendly husky."
Hold on.
Casper had Dillon pick her up?
When did that happen?
Where did they go?
When Casper finished showering, Eliza showed him the message that was still lit up on his screen, "Kate sent you a message."
"She did?" Casper took the phone, glanced at the message, and then blocked her number. "She’s got nothing better to do."
"What does she mean? When did you have Dillon pick her up? Casper, what else are you keeping from me?"
