Chapter 21 

“Why you rejected me?"

"I am hungry! Give me food!"

Dominic stomped like a child as he threw tantrums like a child while sitting on the kitchen slab.

Athena who was stirring the soup gave him an irritated look.She had enough of him as he has been eating her head for the last thirty minutes.

"Will you shut up and sit straight or should I walk away?!"

She threatened with the spatula holding in front of his face which successfully intimidated him.He looked at her with widened eyes before shutting down.

"Goddess, you are scary! Have you always been like this?" He mumbled under his breath which she heard and glared at him once again.

"No, since I have been destined to be your mate, I turned like this."She snapped while concentrating back on cooking.

"Hey, don’t make it sound like a bad thing.Girls are dying to be my mate."

He snapped back. She glared at him after hearing that but didn‘t reply to him because it was going to lead to an unending banter.

And she doesn’t want to have that conversation with a drunk Dominic.

Heck she doesn’t want it with a sober Dominic as well! It’s pointless now! 

"Whatever, you still didn‘t tell me how much you drank to stand my presence this long?" She asked, changing the subject.

"Why won’t I be able to stand your presence? I love your scent." He said cheekily before taking a strand of her hair and sniffing it.

She immediately stepped back away from him with a deep frown on her face.

Her heart started beating loudly after that.

"What are you doing? Are you that drunk to forget that you rejected me, that you hate me?" She asked with a thudded heart.

She didn‘t like him when he was drunk.

But she wasn’t a big fan of his sober self as well.

"I...don‘t...remember."

He looked away from her as he grumbled under his breath.

She frowned at him.

But again decided to stay quiet.

Goddess, she wanted to rest! After that they both went silent for a few moments.

But he didn’t stop disturbing her.

He kept touching her hair, her hands and even tried to kiss her.He earned glares everytime from her and a few times earned a few smack from here and there.

"Why did you have to get drunk?!"

She snapped in annoyance before turning off the gas and serving him the soup she made for him.

"Why do you have to be a rogue?"

He questioned back suddenly, stopping her from walking toward the dining table.

She stopped and looked at him with a blank look.

This one question haunted her for almost three years.

She wants to know why he rejected her.

What was her fault? She didn’t deserve such a harsh punishment for something she didn’t know.

On top of that, she clearly remembers the way he treated her.

How he insulted her and broke her heart into pieces.

He destroyed her that day! 

"You tricked me, Athena.You tried to destroy me!"

He growled before slamming his hand on the table in anger.

She looked at him in shock but before she could react he walked away.She quickly got up and followed him inside the living room to find him sleeping on the couch.

How could he sleep so fast?!

"Wait! Wake up! Tricked you? Tried to destroy you? How? What do you mean?! Tell me!" 

Why you rejected me? tried to wake him up but he didn’t move.

He was in deep slumber.

She sat on the floor with confusion on her face.

Till now she only knew that she was rejected just because she was a rogue and because she was a thief.

Were there any more reasons? What was it?
