Winnie looked at Brian. He was smiling like a child, showing off with honor in his smile.
Winnie moved the line of sight from Brian's face, for fear that she could no longer get him over.
Winnie's sight was back to the competition. The chairman of the judges came to the front of Luke and slowly squatted down.
"Who do you learn programming from? How could you be so good?"
Asked the judge gently, as if he feared Luke might be afraid of him.
"I… I learned it from a teacher."
Luke just wanted to say he learnt from Mommy, but as he thought of what Mommy and Daddy said, he temporarily changed to the teacher.
But his Mommy was right that the judge really appreciated his work. Otherwise, he wouldn't have won the championship.
"Your teacher is very good and you are very clever. There will be good developments in the future."
After the judge finished, he got up and touched Luke's head. Then he handed the award certificate and trophy to Luke.
After the awards were over, the family headed straight to the airport.
After walking out of the competition hall and into the parking lot, they loaded things and carried children to the car. When everything was ready, Winnie had something to do.
"Just give me a minute. I'll say hello to someone I know."
Winnie said and went back the same way, but before she got out of the parking lot, she saw the man she wanted to see.
Winnie stopped and looked at the handsome man walking towards her with a happy smile.
The man looked up inadvertently and saw Winnie. When he saw Winnie, he was stunned at that moment, and then he showed his surprise and walked quickly toward Winnie.
He said nothing, but directly hugged Winnie.
"What a surprise! Can't I be wrong?"
The man asked incredulously, with Winnie in his arms.
Winnie's appearance was too unexpected, making him feel surprised and unreal.
"Yes, I am your wife."
Winnie said jokingly.
"No, you are my ex-wife, we have gone through the divorce formalities."
The man said jokingly, and then looked at Winnie up and down.
This man was Winnie's nominal husband, who held Winnie to get the household registration of Megan.
The man was Steven, one of her college classmates.
"Are you surprised to meet me here?"
Winnie asked happily.
"Yes, I never dreamed of meeting you here."
"But why are you here?"
Steven asked, looking back to see the stadium.
"Are you a parent or a teacher coming to the competition?
"A teacher of Luke, the champion of the children's group."
She heard what Luke said on the stage, so she said she was Luke’s teacher to Steven.
"My God, you taught that genius. Nice, it is your style."
When it came to Luke, Steven got more excited.
“But you saw me before, didn't you?”
"Yes, I saw you sitting on the panel at the start of the competition. Are you going to ask why I didn't say hello? I wanted to avoid suspicion and you would not give in Luke special care."
Winnie knew Steven well enough to know what his next question would be. Steven was also the friend she could confide in, her only male friend she could say anything to.
"You're too cautious. You know I'm not a mercenary man."
Steven smiled, which came from Winnie's understanding of him.
"Yes, but others will not think so, especially those rival’s parents of Luke. They will not be convinced to lose to a child younger than their kids and would say we have connection with the judges. It could be avoided, which is why I am here till now."
Winnie had always been cautious. She saw Steven but did not say hello to him, because she did not want Luke's championship to be controversial.
"You still are cautious. How are you and where do you live now?"
Steven still admired Winnie's meticulous work style.
"I now live in B City with my aunt and sister. I'm fine, and everything is all over."
The smile on Winnie's face was still bright. Seeing that, Steven felt relieved.
"What about Megan? How is Megan now?"
"Good, she has a gift of the gab."
At this, Winnie looked at the time.
"Steven, tell me about you. Where do you live, where do you work, are you still single?"
Winnie got limited time and would like to know Steven's situation.
"I have no a fixed home. I would go back to my hometown to accompany my parents when I was not busy with work. You saw my job, I go around the world all the time. My work unit is in this city, but there are so many opportunities to travel.
"You're right. I am still single."
Steven said it easily and seemed was satisfied with the present situation.
"That's good, give me your phone number. Since you went abroad, I had not contacted with you and did not know how you are, fortunately you live a good life."
Winnie was not depressed because of the question of Megan, but happier.
"What do you mean, is he that important?"
Megan asked in doubts.
"Remember Steven I told you?"
Winnie asked in reply.
"Steven......"
Megan thought for a moment.
"Oh, it was Daddy. The Daddy you married and divorced."
"Yes, that's him, and that Daddy Steven who just hugged Mommy. We had not seen for many years, we hugged because we were happy and it is understandable."
Winnie explained, hoping Megan could understand her.
"Yes, you are right. I didn't know it was Daddy Steven. If I knew, I would thank him."
Megan looked very excited this time, but Brian tightened his eyebrows.
Leo was enough to worry him, and now Steven showed up. And he seemed to have a good relationship with Winnie.
Winnie sat in the back of the car and could not see the expression of Brian. He was in the joy of meeting Steven.
"There will be plenty of opportunities to see him. When Daddy Steven comes to B City, I will take you to thank him."
"I also want to see Uncle Steven. He must be very good. I want to learn from him."
Luke said. Suddenly Steven became the central figure of the topic, which annoyed Brian.
"Don't call him Daddy. I don’t like that. Megan, I am your only Daddy, call him Uncle Steven."
Brian said in a low voice, trying to hide his emotions in front of the children, but there was no warmth in his voice.
"Daddy, you are jealous. It is my bad, I didn't take you into account. I won’t do that again."
With that, Megan laughed out loud, which made Winnie and Luke laugh too, only Brian had a gloomy face.
On board the plane, all four were seated in first class and soon the plane took off.
It was quiet, and the children soon fell asleep.
Winnie and Brian thought of the first time they met on the plane.
"Time flies. It's been almost a year since we met. If I had known you were the father of Megan, I wouldn't have walked out of the airport."
Winnie whispered, remembering the familiar feeling when she first met Brian and heard his voice for the first time, as well as the straight figure of his back.
"This may be fate. Fate arranged us to meet again."
