Holding Megan in arms, Stella fell her sight on the woman beside Brian.
She was tall and slim with fair skin. A pair of sharp eyes on her delicate face were full of confidence.
She was elegant and sedate, showing that she was intelligent.
She was a beauty, quiet and natural.
No wonder Brian’s mood would be affected by her.
The person she assigned had a good taste and found an excellent woman.
“Sister, she is Winnie, Mommy of Luke and Megan.”
Seeing that his sister was looking up and down at Winnie, Brian introduced Winnie to her. Unconsciously he put his hand on the back of Winnie.
However, such a simple action in Stella's view was a strong desire to protect.
"Winwin, this is my sister Stella. She just got back from abroad."
"Nice to meet you, I am Winnie, Megan and Luke's Mommy."
Winnie smiled elegantly to greet Stella.
"Hello."
Stella put down Megan and then held Megan's hand, feeling reluctant to let go.
“I asked Brian to bring you here. I know all about you. Anyway, thank you for giving birth two children for the Bennet family. Sit here."
Stella was gentle, and there was no disdain in eyes and no sharp words, which made Winnie relaxed.
She was angry that Brian cheated her to come over, but she did not show it.
"Thank you!”
Winnie said politely, and then sat down.
As she sat on the sofa, Rufus walked out from the study. He was in a good mood to see them.
"Here you are."
Rufus said happily, then the two children ran to Rufus.
"Grandpa!”
"Grandpa!”
"Good, good, I miss you."
Rufus said while stroking the heads of the two children.
He missed the two children and their parents.
“Hello, Sir.”
Winnie greeted Rufus with a bright smile.
“Good, good, Winnie, you should come back often.”
Rufus said.
“I am sorry. I was busy recently. I will bring the children back when I have time.”
Winnie was awkward that she had not come back once since she had moved out. Rufus was nice to her.
“It is good for the young people to be busy. I am just kidding. When I miss you, I will go and see you.”
Rufus understood that Winnie was busy. She had to support the whole family and sure she would be tired. And she got invisible pressure.
“Welcome to come to us, Sir.”
Winnie felt more ashamed of that, because she thought she should be the one to visit the elderly.
Brian stood next to Winnie all the time. With Winnie there, he felt he was one of the family members.
Since Rufus came out of the study, he did not say a word. Winnie did not make a chance for them as before.
She was awkward and did not know with what identity she stayed there. So she became restrained today.
At the dinner table.
After dinner, they chatted in the pavilion. Rufus was playing ball with the kids, so there were Winnie, Brian and Stella in the pavilion.
“Brian, on which day will Wendy come back?”
Stella mentioned Wendy on purpose.
Winnie and Brian were sensitive of that name.
Winnie asked Brian not to mention in front of her, but she had no right to require others to do so, so she had to listen to it.
Brian knew that Winnie did not want to hear anything about Wendy, but he had to answer his sister.
He said after talking a look at Winnie.
“She still has thing to deal with and will come back in a few days.”
“How is the wedding going? You should have a wedding when she is back.”
Stella continued, but Winnie felt upset her face changed.
She cared everything related to him and minded that he would marry with the other woman.
Winnie gave the answer decisively.
When she did not know that Brian had a woman at the beginning, she never had extravagant hopes for Brian. After knowing the existence of Wendy, she would not allow herself to destroy their relationship.
“Do you love Brian?”
Stella asked. She was not one to pry into people's privacy, but at this point she wondered if Winnie would do what she said.
However, when Stella asked this question, Brian stood outside the pavilion.
At the moment he was nervous, looking forward to Winnie's answer.
Winnie hesitated for a moment and then gave an affirmative answer.
"I don't love him."
Winnie lied and felt heartache.
But t in order to let Stella be at ease, she could only answer like this.
But her answer made Brian's heart instantly broken.
Winnie's calm and decisive answer pierced Brian's cold heart like a sharp sword. The blood flowing from the wound was even cold.
Brian did not expect that he would be so heart. He had been wishful thinking, so she had no feeling for him.
It turned out that there was no way he would be with her. He was the one who had been tricked, he was the one who had been hurt.
Brian said nothing and left angrily. He told himself he could move on and be with Wendy.
The conversation in the pavilion continued, and the more they talked, the more Stella knew about Winnie.
Stella indeed felt relieved that Winnie did not love Brian. She did not look down upon Winnie, she was afraid that Brian could not let go of her, because it would certainly affect Brian's happiness.
In Stella's view, Winnie was pretty, intelligent and had a good character. If there was no Wendy, Winnie was indeed a good candidate.
Unfortunately, Winnie appeared too late. If she showed up in Brian’s world earlier, Brian needed not wait for so many years.
Stella's phone rang and she picked it up.
"Brian."
"Sister, I have to leave in advance. Ask Paul to send them back."
Brian said coldly and then directly hung up the phone. Stella was confused and wondered if he got something to do or he heard her conversation with Winnie.
"Brian went back in advance. Paul will see you off."
Winnie said nothing, but slightly raised the corners of her mouth.
