Chapter 322 

At the police station, in Nathaniel’s detention room, the creak of the door echoed through the room and someone walked in. 

Nathaniel, sitting on the edge of the bed, looked up anxiously. His eyes widened in both shock and disappointment as he saw who had come. 

It was Alice. She was wearing a long black coat and carried a square black leather branded bag in the crook of her arm. 

She shut the door behind her, isolating them from the outside world. She stepped forward, her posture commanding and authoritative. 

Nathaniel hurried over and reached out to grab her hand. Her presence was a small glimmer of hope; perhaps she could help him communicate with the outside world. 

“Alice, I need your help with something very important…” he pleaded. 

But Alice extended her arm to fend off his approach, took a seat, and said coldly, “I’m here about you. Let’s talk.” 

Nathaniel was stunned for a moment before he quickly came over and sat down opposite her. 

“My dear, Alice, please go to the Reed family and help me send a message,” he said.

“Of course not!” Nathaniel denied it immediately. “Alice, I’m not that despicable.” 

Alice sneered again. “Not that despicable? Nathaniel, do you know what kind of life my mother and I have lived because of you? Just because you refused to acknowledge me as your daughter, my mother was forced to marry a gambling addict. He handed my mother over to those men to pay off his debts…”
