The news about Lora’s plagiarism spread through the city like a wild forest fire and the internet was blowing up with headlines about the matter.

Lora was passing through the main office when she heard the employees talking about the news.

“This scandal won’t be good for our company. I’ve already noticed that the stocks are dropping.” someone remarked.

“Yeah… I can’t believe they both name up with the same design. One of them is definitely lying.”

“Who do you think will win the competition? Miss Lora seemed confident in the meeting room.”

“Of course, it’s Miss Williams. We all know Miss Williams is a famous designer but Miss Davis is a nobody who got rich overnight after her parents rescued her from poverty. There’s no way she would win,” Bella Smith uttered.

“I don’t think it’s right for you to judge Miss Davis when you don’t even know her. Let’s wait for the competition and see the results. Then we can judge,” one of a few who were on Lora’s side remarked.

“That’s right. Miss Davis is the daughter of two renowned Jewelry designers after all. I’m looking forward to seeing what she will come up with.”

“Oh please! She’s a thief and I hope Mr Kingsley deals with her for stealing his fiancee’s work!” Bella yelled.

From where they stood, Hannah glanced at Lora and said, “Miss Davis, don’t mind them. Let me tell them off-”

“It’s ok. It’s just some bored employees passing the time by chatting. No need,” Lora replied. She looked at Hannah and stated, “If there’s any news from the company, let me know. I want to concentrate on my design for the next few days.”

Lora walked away after saying those words. However, on her way to her office, she bumped into the one person she didn’t want to meet.

“Look who’s here… it’s the design thief herself,” Ivy sneered.

Lora rolled her eyes. This woman was really shameless. She stole her work and still had the guts to call the owner of the work a thief.

“Miss Williams, excuse t Lora remarked coldly.

I don’t have time to play games with you, I have a new design to work on,”

“A new design? You mean you want to steal from me again? Haha!” Ivy laughed like a maniac. “Save yourself from the embarrassment and forfeit the competition. You have no place here… I’m the only one who can work with Ryan.”

Lora wanted to laugh. ‘So, you’ve finally decided to show your true colours, huh? She said in her mind.

“How are you going to work with Ryan exactly? Are you going to copy everyone’s designs to be able to stay in the company?” Lora asked and anger flashed through Ivy’s eyes.

Lora smirked and said, “I’m glad we are on the same page.”

“Jason, why are you here?” Lora asked. A lot of colleagues who were going in and out of the company kept looking at them and whispering among themselves.

Jason looked like a CEO from a romantic novel who came to pursue his love interest. He was handsome, in an expensive suit with his sandy brown hair styled like a nobleman from an aristocratic movie.

“Lora, I came to cheer you up,” Jason remarked with a gentle smile. “You got this!”

Lora smiled. She approached Jason and asked, “Are you cheering me up because I couldn’t come up with my own design and stole someone’s work?”

“No. I know you didn’t copy anyone’s work. I can never doubt you. I’m here to cheer you up and to assure you that I trust you. You will definitely win the competition,” Jason declared.

Lora’s eyes widened slightly. She didn’t expect Jason to believe her so easily… Unlike Ryan who couldn’t even listen to her side first before concluding, Jason didn’t doubt her and trusted her blindly.

Warmth crept into her heart and she received the flowers from Jason. She sniffed them and said with at smile, “Thank you, Jay. Your trust in me really means a lot.”
