Her Return, His Regret novel Chapter 119

“Is this some kind of joke?” Bianca questioned, glaring at the man in front of her.

“No, it’s not. I’m here to be your partner-”

“You’re not a model-”

“For today, I am,” Adan responded and silence fell over the place.

“I’m done here,” Bianca hissed, turning to leave.

“Miss Jones, where are you going? We have a contract!” The director yelled.

“Well, then you better sue me for breach of contract. I’m out of here!” Bianca yelled back as she left.

The staff members glanced at Adan helplessly.

“Sir, we-”

Adan raised his hand to stop the men from speaking. He chuckled and said, “Let me talk to her.”

He ran after Bianca before grabbing her arm, saying, “Hey-”

However, Bianca flung his hand away viciously, spitting, “Don’t touch me!”

Adan was taken aback by Bianca’s outburst. ‘I probably deserved that,’ he mused, knowing he had messed up when he let his emotions get the better of him the last time they talked.

“Why are you tripping?” Adan asked, looking into her eyes.

Anger flared through Bianca. She glared at Adan and questioned, “Seriously? After what happened, you expect us to act like the best of friends?”

Guilt crept into Adan, knowing what he had said to Bianca was uncalled for. He sighed and said, “Look, I’m sorry, ok? I just got angry that you called me filthy. I didn’t like it and I overreacted.”

“I don't care why you did it… we were never meant to be friends so let’s leave it like that. I won’t shoot an ad with you,” Bianca said stubbornly.

“I’m only shooting it to save time, Bee-”

“Don’t call me Bee. Only my friends get to call me that,” Bianca hissed.

Adan gulped, thinking Bianca was scary when angry.

He looked into her eyes and replied, “We can act like we are strangers… but we need this ad shot today. Where will we get a new female model at such short notice? Please, can you help me? We can work together and then return to being strangers after the shoot.”

Bianca was quiet for a few minutes, her anger slowly dissipating.

She scoffed and said, “I’ll only shoot this ad because I signed a contract and I’m a responsible person. Don’t even think about acting friendly with me during the shoot or else….”

Adan raised his right hand and swore, “I swear, I’ll be professional and only talk to you when necessary.”

Bianca rolled her eyes before walking past Adan and returning to the shooting scene, her heart racing. Why did Adan have to talk to her while wearing nothing but a pair of shorts? Those abs… God, he had a god-like body.

At the same time, Adan found himself smiling as he watched Bianca walk back, the swimsuit fitting her body perfectly like it was made specifically for her.

She had a great body alright… sexy, even.

Soon, the two were standing side by side, taking shots at every angle. Adan wasn’t a model but his poses came naturally, falling in sync with Bianca.

“Mr Nicholson and Bianca, I want us to make this look as natural as possible… This is an ad for a sports swimsuit line. We need that athletic vibe in the ad. Come on, show me some chemistry!”

Bianca sighed, wrapping the towel around her body. She glanced at Adan before responding, “I’m sorry too. I shouldn't have called you filthy.”

Adan smiled before extending his hand towards Bianca. He smiled and asked, “Friends?”

Bianca glanced at Adan’s hand before looking up at his wet face. His hair had turned into curls and some had fallen over his forehead, oh so beautifully.

He was gorgeous, she had to admit. However, he was also dangerous and she knew she had to stay away from him.

But since he had been the bigger person and apologised, she didn’t want to look petty, so she extended her hand and took his, saying, “Yes, friends.”

In another part of the city, Ryan and Lora walked into a bridal store and were led to a VIP lounge. They had set their wedding to seven days later, so they didn’t have time to have a custom wedding dress made.

The sales lady served them some tea before saying, “Please be patient, I’ll be bringing out the dresses you had picked so that you can try them on.”

“No problem, take your time,” Lora replied, smiling. “We are waiting for our friends.”

When the sales lady left, Lora glanced at Ryan and asked, “Do you think they will come? I noticed some tension between Adan and Bianca during our engagement. I was even surprised that they agreed to be on the bridal team.”

“I’m sure they will work on their differences,” Ryan replied, leaning down to peck Lora’s forehead. “I’m only interested in seeing you in a wedding dress.”

Lora chuckled, her cheeks burning.

Soon, the four people the couple had been waiting for arrived. Lora wasn’t shocked anymore that Bianca appeared with Adan and Diane appeared with her uncle, Aiden Davis.

She smiled and said, “Great! It seems you’ve already paired yourselves. May the wedding preparations begin.”
