If the gemstones were not used correctly, the true essence of even the best designs would not be captured.
Suzanne didn't care if Seline didn't understand design. At least, until she officially took over Yates Corporation, she wouldn't interfere. But obstructing the progress of the Elite Contest was something she could not tolerate.
Those who had initially harbored displeasure, disdain, and disgust toward Suzanne now fell silent. At this moment, no one dared to challenge her.
The designers in this department were among the top in the industry. They all knew clearly that what she had said was the truth.
Seline lowered her head as large tears rolled down her cheeks. She cried pitifully, "I'm sorry. I shouldn't have locked them away."
That damned Tanya! How could she not tell her this would cause such a huge problem?
If this issue truly impacted the outcome of the contest, she dared not imagine how Henry would punish her. She couldn't allow Suzanne to win an award, but she also couldn't jeopardize the other entries of the company.
Suzanne glared at Seline coldly. "When something goes wrong, all you do is cry. You're completely useless. Do you think you deserve to be a manager?"
Who gave Seline the right to act high and mighty in front of her?
Seline's expression changed instantly.
"Save your tears for when you have to explain yourself to the shareholders. Now, are you going to hand over the gemstones, or should I bring the shareholders here myself?"
With her head still lowered, Seline wiped away her tears and sniffled. "Of course, I'll hand them over right away. I didn't realize the severity of the situation before, but now that I do, I wouldn't possibly delay it further."
She desperately tried to salvage her reputation.
But the other employees couldn't help but whisper among themselves, "I really thought there weren't any good emeralds in the storeroom. Turns out, she locked them all up."
"Is Ms. Seline really that clueless?"
Now that the materials were available, the design department grew even busier. Everyone was rushing between the storeroom and the office.
While Suzanne and the others were occupied, Seline stood in her manager's office, staring coldly at Suzanne through the one-way glass. Her gaze was filled with hatred, as if she wanted to devour Suzanne alive.
Just then, someone knocked on her door. Seline said coldly, "Come in."
Tanya pushed the door open.
Since arriving at work, she had been delivering documents to the secretary's office and handling handovers. She had just returned and was completely unaware of what had happened in the design department earlier.
Tanya saw Seline standing by the glass and quietly closed the office door behind her.
She stepped forward and reported respectfully, "Ms. Yates, the secretary's office just informed me that our department's performance this month is good. The upper management plans to give us a bonus—"
