Her Hidden Crowns (Suzanne and Austin) novel Chapter 327

No one in the entertainment industry had ever dared to ignore Barbie like this.

She stepped forward and shoved Cheryl's shoulder impatiently. "I'm talking to you. Are you mute? With Yvette here, do you really think you'll pass the audition? Do you even deserve it?"

A gleam of light flashed in her eyes. There was no better time than the present to attempt to solidify her relationship with Yvette.

The others around them lowered their heads and whispered among themselves.

"That's right. Someone who's never acted before thinks she can audition for Ms. Newton's show? Does she think this is the supermarket where anyone can just show up?"

"It's important to know one's place, but some people clearly don't."

"Running into Ms. Herschel for the same audition is just bad luck. Without even an ounce of fame, how does this lady expect to succeed?"

Everyone here had clawed their way up in the industry, and what they disrespected the most was someone who thought they could rise to the top overnight. Their comments were all belittling Cheryl.

Cheryl clenched her fists behind her back, forcing down her nerves and plucking up the courage to meet their disdainful stares. At that moment, she understood that their ridicule would never stop until she succeeded. So, she straightened her back and faced them head-on.

The group merely scoffed and continued making fun of her. Suddenly, a shout from the audition room interrupted them. "Yvette Herschel, please come in for your audition."

Yvette stood up, and as she passed Cheryl, she gave her a cold, mocking look. "Acting isn't just about having a pretty face. The supporting female lead role is mine. If you don't have the skills, stop dreaming."

Seeing Cheryl's face turn pale, Yvette withdrew her gaze and strode into the audition room.

The murmurs started again.

"I heard Yvette might be bringing investment into the production. She's really determined to get this role."

Barbie sneered, "I think some people really need to stop chasing after things that are out of their league."

A few women who were close to Barbie joined in, saying, "She probably won't give up until she gets rejected. Just wait and see—Yvette will walk out of that audition room with the supporting female lead role in the bag."

Cheryl ignored them and kept her eyes locked on the closed doors of the audition room. Her indifference only fueled their anger.

She had nothing, so what was there to be so proud of? Soon enough, she would learn her place.

Just then, a loud crash came from inside the audition room, stopping the chatter outside instantly. Everyone exchanged nervous glances, their expressions shifting.

One person whispered, "I heard Ms. Newton is in a bad mood. Did someone's bad acting piss her off?"

At that, everyone's expressions changed drastically.
