Suzanne was absorbed in her own work and didn't bother looking at Seline. A mocking smile played on Seline's lips. Was Suzanne intentionally disregarding her? Hmph! Had she finally come to terms with her own shortcomings?
As soon as Henry entered the conference room, he immediately noticed Suzanne. Despite the whirlwind of emotions he felt, he swiftly gathered his composure as he was aware of the task ahead.
Standing before the table, he looked over at the designers and said, "As Yates Corporation strives for the Elite Award this time, we need everyone to give their best effort."
Henry took a moment before adding, "We've established a series of incentives to boost participation in hopes of winning the gold prize. Ms. Seline will send you the specifics later."
Excited whispers spread across the room, with everyone eager about the potential rewards.
Macey turned to Suzanne with a thrilled expression and asked, "Do you know what the rewards are?"
Given that she was Henry's daughter, she ought to have some inside information, right?
Suzanne shook her head. "I don't."
She wasn't involved with upper management, and there was no reason for Henry to share anything with her. Their relationship had soured into mutual dislike long ago. They only remained at the same company because they needed the money.
Lillian scoffed and rolled her eyes at Suzanne, saying, "It's no surprise that she's clueless about the high-level decisions. Mr. Yates disapproves of her as his daughter."
Then, she thought, "Does she honestly believe she can effortlessly maneuver through the upper ranks? Does she think everyone is just waiting to be manipulated by her?"
Macey shot an angry look at Lillian. "You!"
She was ready to retort, but Suzanne gently held her back by the arm. "Don't lower yourself to that level. Keep your positivity to present your work later."
He instinctively looked over at Suzanne, who remained composed in her chair, her face showing no emotion. Henry frowned, wondering if she was truly unfazed.
Meanwhile, the rest of the office employees, intimidated by Henry's stern presence, stayed silent. They were worried about incurring his wrath and risking being fired.
Lillian's face turned ashen. What was happening? She thought Henry didn't like Suzanne. What changed? Was it all just a facade?
She tightened her fists. She was aware that confronting Henry was not wise no matter how much she wanted to. Casting one last resentful look at Suzanne and Macey, she unwillingly returned to her seat.
Henry inhaled deeply to calm himself and went on, "We need to be proactive and diligent. Now, let's start selecting the pieces for the competition."
After finishing his speech, he nodded to Seline, indicating it was her turn to take charge. Then, he leaned back in his seat.
