How could Suzanne, that bitch, be worthy of having that?
Seline glared intently at the photo on her phone, acting as if her glare could burn holes into Suzanne's skin.
It had to be fake. That necklace had to be a dupe!
She was certain that Suzanne had hired netizens to spew nonsense to enhance her image, or it was Jane's brainless fans tooting her horns.
The necklace had to be a dupe!
Seline was suffocating in her misery. The irritation was so uncomfortable that it felt like she had a fishbone lodged in her throat. She flung her phone heavily onto the ground with a bang.
"That bitch!" Seline eyed the pieces of jewelry on her vanity table and instantly felt like they were extremely annoying. She stormed toward them and swept all of them to the ground. They were all just trash!
Tangible hatred churned within Seline's eyes. One day, she would be sure to stomp Suzanne on the ground so hard that it would be impossible for her to turn things around.
..
Austin had to fly to Azure City early the next morning.
When Suzanne got up the next morning, she saw Austin's bold, unique handwriting on a sticky note he left on the nightstand. "Take good care of yourself. Remember to call me immediately if anything happens."
Suzanne smiled. Turning, she saw the morning sun streaming in from the windows and stretched. She felt like her head was a little heavy, probably because she drank alcohol last night.
She went downstairs as she massaged her temples.
Rita placed a bowl of savory oatmeal in front of Suzanne.
She looked at Suzanne with a smile on her face and said respectfully, "Mrs. Hall, Mr. Hall specially requested for me to cook this savory oatmeal for you. You had alcohol yesterday, so eating this could relieve you of a hangover and revitalize your body."
Suzanne paused for a while. She didn't expect Austin to arrange for this even when he had to leave so early.
A smile formed on her lips as she replied happily, "Okay, thank you!"
Suzanne sat down and took a little bite of the oatmeal. Then, she looked at Rita and asked, "You added cucumber to this?"
Besides, when Suzanne remembered the surprise she got yesterday, her smile widened.
Marsha flipped around in bed and sat up in a huff. "Fuck, you're extorting me again."
The gift she had prepared was already pretty substantial without Suzanne hinting to her about it.
Marsha was reminded of that photo on social media and cackled deviously, wanting the latest scoop. "Tell me honestly. Did Austin gift you the necklace you were wearing last night?"
Suzanne paused. The necklace from last night?
She frowned and asked curiously, "How do you know he gave me a necklace?"
Technically, only Yasmine and Aaron should know about it, and they were not people who liked to yap around.
Marsha fought the urge to roll her eyes as she plopped heavily back onto her blanket. "Babe, this has caused a major uproar on social media for the entire night now. It's really hard for me not to know about it, okay?"
