Her Hidden Crowns (Suzanne and Austin) novel Chapter 214

"Exactly! Even if she's the CEO's daughter, what does that matter? If this gets out, how are we in the design department supposed to hold our heads high in the future?"

This was a matter concerning their future reputation. Many people glared at Suzanne as if she were their sworn enemy.

Jessica was extremely pleased with the situation. As long as everyone disliked Suzanne, even someone in a high position in the company wouldn't be able to protect her. After all, public opinion could be very powerful.

Jessica stood up and looked down at Suzanne. She curled her lips and said coldly, "Ms. Suzanne, it's time to apologize."

Everyone turned their eyes to Suzanne, waiting expectantly for her to apologize. However, she remained seated where she was, neither servile nor overbearing. She showed no signs of giving in.

When her sharp gaze landed on Jessica, she asked, "Do you have any evidence?"

Macey quickly turned around and walked briskly toward her workstation, saying, "Let me check it out."

Curious, everyone gathered around Macey. Jessica and Seline exchanged a glance with each other. They each sat on the couch without moving, but there was excitement in their eyes as if they were certain of victory.

Macey's fingers flew over the keyboard at a rapid pace. In just a short while, she found the design sketch that she had in her memory.

Glancing at the sketch, she murmured, "I've found it."

Everyone's gaze immediately shifted to the design drawing displayed on the computer screen.

Seline was so excited that her heart seemed to be pounding out of her chest. She clenched her fingers into a tight fist, her nails digging deeply into her palm. It was the only way she could barely contain the joy swelling inside her.

"Suzanne, you're done for!"

Just as Seline was reveling in her triumph, Macey's voice cut through the tension. "It turns out they're different."

Seline's expression froze on the spot.

Meanwhile, Jessica felt a sudden pang of panic in her heart. She felt as if her face had just been slapped hard, and it was burning with embarrassment.

Damn it! Why on earth was Suzanne actually able to design something like this?

For a moment, the office was enveloped in an eerie silence.

Suzanne's gaze settled on Jessica. She broke the silence and asked in a solemn voice, "Ms. Macher, do I pass this test?"

Jessica instinctively looked toward Seline. However, she saw that Seline was just frowning with a stern face and showed no other reaction at all.

She withdrew her gaze and turned back to Suzanne, gnashing her teeth as she said, "You just got lucky this time."

Jessica let out a cold snort and continued, "Don't think that just because you got someone skilled to help you and you passed this time that you can relax. If you can't deliver in the future, you'll still have to get out of the company."

The implication was clear—she simply didn't believe that Suzanne had sketched the design herself.

Suzanne's expression turned cold. Her frigid eyes were like knives as she stared at Jessica and said icily, "There won't be a next time. You're about to be fired right away."
