Xavier and Terence were strikingly different—one was warm and gentle, the other cold and stoic.
"Lily." Terence was surprised to see Xavier there.
Xavier wore a cold expression. Just as Terence was about to greet him, he saw Lily step out, and his surprise deepened.
When he noticed Hayden and Rowan were also there, it became clear to him that they had likely gathered because of Hayden's condition.
"Terence," Lily said as she walked toward him with Hayden. Before they could reach him, Rowan quickly took the lead, rushing toward Terence.
"Mr. Devereux, you're here to see me, right? There's an urgent matter at my hospital. Let's leave quickly; we can talk on the way!" Rowan grabbed Terence and led him toward the SUV. "Xavier, could you see Ms. Joyner off for me?"
Rowan suddenly remembered that Terence was also pursuing Lily.
He recalled that the favor Terence owed him had already been repaid through his help with Lily's illness, and now he actually owed him another favor in return.
He regretted forgetting this detail and calling Terence over, which had created this awkward situation. In Rowan's eyes, the awkwardness was in the moment when the two admirers met Lily.
However, Xavier had misunderstood it, thinking that Terence was there to see Lily, but Rowan quickly dragged him away.
After Terence got into the car, he deliberately rolled down the window to greet Lily before driving off.
Lily watched the car leave, feeling confused.
"They've left. What are you still staring at?" Xavier said, his tone full of displeasure.
"Hayden, go ahead and get in the car and wait for me." Lily handed the car keys to Hayden, signaling him to return to the car.
Once Hayden was in the car, she turned her attention to Xavier. "Xavier, thank you for today. How's the investigation into the photos and videos going?"
She hadn't wanted to ask over the phone, but since they had met, she decided to seize the moment.
"Did you forget what I said last time?"
"They were ideal for one another, both unfaithful in their own way."
It had been a ridiculous, absurd remark, and Lily had always believed he'd said it impulsively.
But since he brought it up again, she had no choice but to face the issue. "Xavier, not everyone is as vile as you and Sarah!"
"Vile? A few photos and a video, and you conclude I cheated? But when you're always with Terence, that's not vile?"
Lily was caught off guard. This was exactly why she hadn't brought up the photos and videos earlier.
The evidence wasn't enough! He would twist it to his advantage, no matter what she showed him, and even turn it back on her.
She had hoped for an amicable separation, but since he refused, she had no choice but to find another way.
