Chapter 197
mothy canht up with Lily and stopped her. “It’s rush hour, so getting a taxi is hard.”
Inside the car, Xavier muttered, “I need a termination contract right now!
She also thought it was impossible. She glanced back, but the figure of the man inside the car was blurry through the window.
Altera in seconds of hesitation, she walked over to the Maybach and knocked on the back window
Xavier’s temples tightened, and the veins on his forehead were faintly visible. He gritted his teeth, barely stopping himself from getting out and licking
Tinsoby.
But soon, he decided he shouldn’t hold back.
Timothy pressed the car key and lowered the back window. After all, he didn’t know that Lily and Xavier had already gone through the divorce procedures at the courthouse and were in the cooling–off period.
However, he sensed that Kavder had been acting strangely these past few days, and it seemed like the two had fought. If they reconciled, it would only benefit him
The sudden lowering of the car window left Xavier’s ashen expression completely exposed.
Do you need something from me? Come in and talk Lilly didn’t believe he wanted to let her into the car just to give her a ride home.
After all, she never had this treatment when she was his wife. She didn’t seize the opportunity to get in the car as he had expected, and he was taken
A sense of unease began to rise within him when he saw her cold demeanor.
“Mrs. Fulton, please get in the car and talk,” Timothy interjected. The cold wind rushed into the car, blowing Xavier’s short hair around
He stepped forward and opened the car door. She reached out, trying to stop him from opening the door–she didn’t want to get in
However, Xavier moved faster, stepping out of the car. He was wearing a thin black shirt, the wind making the fabric cling to his well–built frame
Standing before her, she had to tilt her head back to meet his gaze
“Mr. Fulton, Mrs. Fulton, it’s cold outside…” Timothy began to say, but he was cut off by the sharp look Xavier threw.
“Get lost,” Xavier growled, his throat bobbing as he forced the anger down.
Timothy quickly realized he had overstepped and, without another word, turned and hurriedly walked away, leaving them alone with plenty of space to
Xavier’s attitude didn’t seem like he had anything to say.
The faint scent of tobacco and men’s cologne surrounded Lily, instantly cracking the walls she had built around her heart. He could make her forget all the hurt in an instant.
Her heart raced as her eyes fixed on his chiseled jaw and the prominent Adam’s apple.
“Lily, stop using these dirty tricks, I’m not interested in playing your game.”
His expression was cold, and his posture regal
Lily remained silent for a few seconds before her gaze gradually returned to its coolness. “Firstly, Timothy said he’d give me a ride and that you were waiting for me in the car. That’s why I came over.
“Secondly, if you have issues, you should treat them sooner. Can you stop acting crazy in front of me?”
She couldn’t hold back any longer. She wasn’t sure
ure if Xavier thought of her as someone who liked to play mind games or if he misunderstood something
But she couldn’t let him continue to believe that her actions regarding the divorce were some kind of attention–seeking stunt.
“I hope the next time we meet, it will be a month from now, at the courthouse, when we pick up our divorce certificate.”
With that, she turned to leave but was almost brushed by a speeding car. Instinctively, she stepped back, stumbling right into Xavier’s arms. He instinctively caught her waist.
His heart burned with anger at her harsh words, yet his arms held her slender waist firmly. He wanted to push her away, but his body betrayed him, tightening its grip around her delicate frame.
