Lily put her phone down and walked into the bathroom 

After finishing the call with Lily, Maryanne tossed the phone back to Terence. 

“Terence, why didn’t you send Lily home?” 

Terence tucked the phone away. “It wasn’t convenient.” 

It was just three words, but Maryanne couldn’t make sense of them. 

She complained as she got out of the car, “What do you mean? You’re just worried. She’s only a girl, taking a cab alone in the middle of the night. And now that Xavier doesn’t even bother giving her a ride…” 

She kept rambling on while Terence followed behind, his head aching from her constant chatter. Soon, they reached the second floor. 

Terence turned toward his study. “You should get some rest. I’ve got some work to handle,” 

“You should sleep too! Don’t push yourself so hard. You’re always making me worry!” 

Maryanne yawned as she entered her room and closed the door. 

In the study, Terence opened his computer and started working on tasks related to the Devereux Group. In the end, he sent an email to his assistant titled “Sponsorship for Avelon Designs Competition“. 

To ensure fairness, the competition didn’t allow any design company to sponsor it. Hence, he had no choice but to rely on Devereux Group to become a sponsor for the competition. As far as he knew, a large sum of sponsorship money had yet to be secured. 

He could take it all and, in doing so, gain the final say. 

Terence’s decision faced opposition from Devereux Group’s upper management. Devereux Group’s subsidiaries weren’t involved in the design industry at all!

I called you here for something else,” Hazel sald, forcing a smile. It was as if the tension between them had never existed. Lily was used to Hazel’s tactics. Every time they had a disagreement, no matter who was right or wrong, Hazel would never admit fault. She would 

ways come up with an excuse to get Lily to meet her, and then pretend the previous arguments never happened. 

This time, she had used Hayden to trikk Lily into coming. 

The elevator stopped on the fourth floor. When the doors opened, the long hallway in front of them was marked with the sign for the Obstetrics and Gynecology Department.
