"Is the system really still out there?" he asked.

The Jensens, including Shannon, sharply caught the underlying implication in his tone. Hector was the first to question him. "What do you mean? Did you already know that the system was still around?"

His pointed question left Caleb no time to come up with an excuse. He had no choice but to tell the truth under the intense stares. "When Cecily came to me, she did mention something about the system's escape…"

Then, he hurriedly added, "But I thought she was lying! I didn't believe her at all!"

The Jensens agreed it made sense and got Thomas to lead Clara to the family room.
