Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 826

It wasn't until Diego heard that unique voice that he recalled this was Caleb's plus-one for tonight. He frowned instinctively and looked at Ziva, asking, "What do you mean?"

She ignored him and subsequently left without another word.

Seeing how she quickly merged into the lively crowd, he mumbled, "Weirdo."

Unbeknownst to him, his face experienced a subtle change after Ziva's last words.

Had Shannon been here, she would've instantly noticed the faint mixture of red and black energy gathering between his brows—a sign of upcoming disaster.

Meanwhile, Caleb watched Diego's departure before turning to Shannon.

Although he unhesitatingly stepped forward earlier, he couldn't help but be suspicious now that Diego had left. "Did you instruct someone to abduct Cecily, Shannon?"

He wasn't trying to suspect her per se, but Diego's theory made him think twice. Technically, it was a reasonable suspicion. He believed Shannon was the only person who fit the criteria of having bad blood with Cecily and being cruel enough to bash her.

Hank was speechless. For a moment, he truly thought Caleb had grown wiser—that was on him.

Hank, with a face full of sympathy, lamented, "Oh, good. At least he put two and two together. That's a good sign that he's not entirely a fool, right?"

First, it was Diego; now, it was Shannon. Caleb was rendered exasperated by them and suddenly forgot why he was there.

By the time they returned to the party, they realized Ziva had left.

"That lady said she was unfeeling well, so she took off first." The receptionist relayed the message to Caleb.

At that, Hank assumed Caleb would worriedly ask about her condition or run after her, given his regard for her. To his surprise, Caleb simply grunted in response.
