Elliot heaved a sigh after settling Zane's case. He was about to leave when Shannon suddenly said, "Since you're here, why not treat Mrs. Jensen Senior's legs?"
The Jensens were utterly stunned by her words once more. This was especially for Marie, who couldn't believe her ears. Shannon was offering to treat her legs! The sun must be rising in the west today!
But calling her "Mrs. Jensen Senior" made it clear that this was indeed Shannon. Marie felt deeply conflicted. On one hand, she was pleased that Shannon still cared about her, but the way she was addressed made her want to refuse out of pride.
Though these thoughts ran through her mind, she couldn't bring herself to reject the offer. No one would want to remain in a wheelchair if there was a chance for her legs to heal.
Her pride had crumbled because of her inability to walk, and that was why she'd been so appreciative of Cecily's care.
Marie held herself back from looking at Shannon and instead focused on Elliot. She'd just witnessed his methods; he'd simply held Zane's hand and murmured chants, and Zane's complexion had visibly improved.
If he could do that…
The thought of possibly being able to walk again lit up Marie's eyes with eagerness.
Though Hector had been upset with Marie's attitude toward Shannon, he still cared for her since she was his grandmother.
Plus, Marie's attitude softened after Shannon pulled her soul from the doll, so Hector hoped that Marie would recover.
He even started wondering if being confined to a wheelchair was the reason for Marie being so domineering and unreasonable over the years. If she could walk again, maybe she'd be kinder to Shannon.
The entire family watched Elliot with hopeful eyes.
As the malevolent energy was faint, it might have just caused discomfort for a younger person, but it'd been enough to keep Marie confined to her wheelchair due to her old age.
Perhaps this was what Cecily had hoped for. Marie would trust and become more dependent on Cecily as long as she remained in a wheelchair.
Shannon had chosen not to intervene knowing that Marie would slowly recover now that the system was gone.
She could've stepped in to heal Marie, but her efforts wouldn't have been as immediate and obvious as Elliot's.
Marie might even accuse Shannon of tampering with her condition instead, so the latter chose not to cause trouble for herself.
She'd brought it up today for the sake of the 2% in shares of Jensen Corporation, but she had no intention of telling Marie the truth just yet. Revealing everything now would only result in a few angry pointless scoldings from Marie.
