At the Cooper residence, Benjamin was startled by the notification that suddenly appeared above his video call meeting.

In the video call, a strikingly handsome man raised an eyebrow at him. "What's wrong?"

"Nothing". Benjamin stayed calm and told the man, "I'll be heading to Jamborough sometime soon."

The man chuckled. "You do that. Those geezers have been testing our limits for the last two years, and I've held myself back every time from giving them a beating. I'm sure they'll finally cower at the sight of you."

The man continued talking endlessly, but Benjamin was in no mood to hear it. He ended the video call after a quick bye. Then he picked up his phone and perused the text message he received earlier.

After some thinking, he decided to phone her. The call quickly connected, and he asked, "You're buying me a meal?"

"Yup." The tenderness in Shannon's voice came through the phone perfectly. "I've just gotten lucky, and I want to treat you to a meal."

"Lucky in what sense?" Benjamin was surprisingly curious.

She was honest. "Grandpa said he's going to transfer me 5% of the company's shares. I'm basically rich now."

Her tone sounded as calm and steady as usual, but a hint of suppressed excitement seeped through.

His lips curled instinctively, and he answered without hesitation, "Sure. When?"

"How about tonight?" Shannon deliberately asked, "I'm heading back to campus in two days. Will you be free tonight?"

"I can make it." Benjamin said, "I'm not busy."

At that, Shannon looked dubiously at Benji Gold. "What happened to not eating and sleeping because of work, huh? Did you lie to me?" she questioned with her eyes.

Initially, Annalise gifted her all kinds of exquisite dresses. After finding out Shannon preferred to dress casually, she gifted her simple yet stylish everyday casual wear.

Still, she slipped in a few skirts of different styles once in a while so Shannon would have options ready whenever she felt like a change in mood.

Similarly, Cecily received the same treatment. But even though they were all seasonal new arrivals, the brand's limited editions were always given exclusively to Shannon, even if she didn't wear them.

Cecily had even hinted at Annalise regarding the differential treatment, yet the latter never did anything about it.
