Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 684

The two paper figures led Shannon into the villa. When they passed the side corridor, she saw Marshmallow—not by Benjamin's side but playing with Kai… at the pet house on the other end of the garden!

Huh? Since when did Benjamin have a pet house?

Julian, who had long come over upon Shannon's arrival, saw her gazing at the garden and explained, "Kai went to the Jensen residence recently, and ever since he returned, he'd been asking to build a pet house at the garden."

Julian initially thought Kai wanted to have a pet on his own. He had even inquired about Benjamin's opinion, to which he paused briefly before saying, "Whatever he wants."

Knowing Benjamin's temperament, Julian eventually had someone build a simple but spacious pet house, placing it in the corner of the garden where Benjamin rarely frequented.

To his surprise, no new pets had entered the Cooper residence after two weeks of building that pet house. Instead, Marshmallow had been coming over from time to time.

At his explanation, Shannon descended into silence.

Kai must've seen Marshmallow's pet house at the Jensen residence and wanted one for himself. Surprisingly, Benjamin agreed to such a request. Then, she recalled Hector preparing a pet playroom for Marshmallow at home…

All of a sudden, Shannon felt guilty for shoving Kai, that troublemaker, to Benjamin.

She remained hesitant even after arriving outside the study on the second floor. Meanwhile, one of the golden paper figures had sneaked through a gap in the door while the other clambered up to the doorknob.

With a click, the door to the study swung open.

By then, Benjamin was already seated on the couch with two freshly brewed tea on the table. Shannon's lingering awkwardness instantly vanished at the sight of him.

She sat down and took a sip, then heard him asking, "Did Cecily move out of the Jensen residence?"

She was surprised by how well-informed he was. "Did Hector tell you?"

Benjamin grunted in response. "The day Eva got kidnapped, Cecily hinted at Mrs. Jensen Senior that you foresaw the incident but kept quiet about it. Hector was pissed."

Then there was the golden paper figure.

Since his return from Serene Crest, the paper figure had been particularly active. Whenever he was in his study, it would bounce up and down without a miss.

The same thing happened today—while he was sending out an email, it suddenly jumped onto his keyboard and tugged at his sleeve to lead him to the window.

He couldn't help but feel perplexed by this feeling.

After they finished their drinks, Shannon asked to retrieve the talismans she had left at his place, after which he pointed at the wooden box on his desk.

While walking over, she realized his desk was filled with many items compared to her first visit. Some of them even belonged to her.

Other than the desk, there were also a few raw stones she placed on the shelves to absorb his spiritual energy.
