Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 677

Adrian and Janice were reminded of how unlucky Caleb had been in the past and how he was still out of town.

Although they wrapped the doll incident up with Cecily's extermination of the doll… Well, it would be a lie to say nobody was bothered by it, especially when it involved their son's well-being.

Hence, Adrian and Janice stayed silent.

Seeing Adrian's family swayed by Hector, Cecily grew increasingly desperate by the second; naturally, Adam and Shannon's support was beyond her reach.

She believed Shannon must've been laughing and mocking her inside despite not uttering a word.

Flustered and helpless, Cecily could only turn to her last resort—Marie.

Marie was her biggest support in the family. With her insistence, Hector would refrain from confronting Marie head-on.

At that thought, Cecily comforted herself and turned to Marie, beginning her performance.

She lowered her head at the sight of Marie, letting her fresh, warm tears fall onto the back of Marie's hand, which was holding hers.

Those tears felt like a sizzling pain against Marie's heart. She looked at the pitiful Cecily and grew more hostile toward her grandson.

"Didn't we put an end to the doll incident already? Why are you bringing it up again? For goodness sake, what happened to you, Hector? You would've never acted so petty about everything in the past, to the point of cornering an innocent young girl! You truly disappoint me!"

Marie's reprimand finally prompted Shannon to speak up this time. Her gaze turned cold, and she swiftly interjected, "Because that incident isn't over yet."

She might not say it aloud, but she genuinely cared about her family. Otherwise, she wouldn't have accepted and even defended Scott and Eva.

In fact, Shannon was the most compassionate person he knew, and someone like that was bound to get hurt the most. As such, he wished to protect her from their family's wrath, including Marie's.

Furthermore, the doll incident wasn't the main issue today. Instead, it was whether Cecily would finally bid farewell to the Jensen residence.

Thinking of that, Hector unexpectedly softened his tone and resumed his usual gentle demeanor, saying, "Grandma, can I speak privately with you?"

His switch-up was too random, and everyone was as baffled as Marie. Knowing him well, Adam and George inexplicably sensed that Hector was about to play a wild card—one that would leave a significant impact on Marie.
