Carlos sought the administrative leaders, persuaded them, and eventually cast Elliot onto the show. The administrative leaders thought it would be a good idea for Elliot to build his courage. Not to mention, Shannon would be in his company.
As such, they decisively permitted it and "kicked" him off the mountain.
After descending from the MPV, Elliot hid behind Shannon, trying to use her dainty figure as his shield. "H-Hello, everyone." His voice was as soft as usual, while the livestream audience enthusiastically hyped him up.
Knowing Elliot's shy and reserved nature, Percy showed no signs of bombarding him with questions. Instead, he turned to Shannon and told her about the summit meeting in Northgate that day. In a way, he explained to the audience why she and Elliot were late.
Shannon wasn't much surprised to hear about the summit meeting. She only asked, "Is it in the north of the city?"
Percy was taken aback. "Oh, so you knew?"
Apparently, it was an industry summit, with only big shots attending. Therefore, not many online users knew about it.
Shannon grunted lightly in response, not giving much of an explanation in return.
She guessed the summit was on the north side of Northgate because the north was where a significant amount of financial fortunes typically gathered in the skies. Its golden radiance differed from Benjamin's golden light.
She saw it earlier in the car, but that wasn't the main point for today.
Soon, Percy led Shannon and Elliot up to the building, where four other cast members awaited them. They took a rest while casually livestreaming. Once they heard Shannon and Elliot's arrival, they welcomed them.
Knowing how socially awkward Elliot was, Eddie took the initiative to greet him. Strangely, the former seemed particularly reserved with others but comfortable with Eddie; he was even willing to chat closely with him.
Olivia, observing on the side, couldn't help but be in awe. Then, she started chatting with Shannon about why Carlos would choose Elliot as the newest cast member.
"I listened to your advice and put those thorns under my pillow. I'm telling you, I had nightmares for so many nights."
He was talking about the cloth bundle Elliot gifted him at the end of Episode 4. Indeed, those were Elliot's thorns, which carried the faint presence of the Hedgehog Deity. It was his way of allowing Eddie to feel the presence of the Fox Deity.
Elliot was in a panic to hear him having nightmares. "W-What did you dream about?"
That shouldn't be the case. His thorns could heal sickness. Why would there be nightmares?
Then, Eddie answered, "There's this old woman who kept following and strangling me every night." He seemed rather uneasy when talking about it, almost as if convinced he had been haunted.
Elliot and Shannon were equally speechless. Well… Had he considered that the old woman could be the Fox Deity he worshiped so much?
