The students noticed that although the two talismans in Logan's hands were written with different strengths, they had identical sigils and spacing.
The crowd looked at Shannon with admiration. Students who'd hoped she might fail quietly dismissed their thoughts of mocking her.
Her talent in the talismanic arts was unmatched and absolutely incomparable. It was better to focus on other subjects and aim to surpass her there.
After all, a mystic master couldn't possibly be exceptional in all five aspects of mystic arts.
The mindset calmed the students. There was no rush; this was just the beginning.
Logan acknowledged Shannon's talent. What pleased him most was that while other students were focused on the flow of sigils, she had perfectly replicated the spiritual energy he infused.
Given her talent, it was no wonder that the school had proactively extended a letter of admission even when she hadn't applied.
But he noticed that there hadn't been anything special with her spiritual energy, so how had she cast the rain that invoked the Strength of the Dragon Deity?
Logan suppressed his inner curiosity to look at Shannon and asked, "You've drawn the talisman, but do you know what it is?"
Shannon met Logan's scrutinizing gaze and answered without much thought.
"This seems to be a purifying talisman. The sigils include runes for dispelling filth, but there's also a sigil for eliminating grudges.
"So, I'm guessing it's a composite talisman for both dispelling and eliminating grudges."
Some students were confused, and others had a moment of realization. Others who were unfamiliar with talismanic arts admired her blindly.
Logan's eyes revealed approval and admiration after hearing her response. "That's right. This is a new talisman I've recently developed."
He nodded at Shannon and turned to the class to explain, "In the Runic Order, talismans for purification, rites, and cross-overs are foundational to becoming a talismanist in mystic arts.
Logan looked at the earnest students before him. There was a confused look in his eyes, and he took a moment to say, "I'll have the teaching assistant scan it and upload the file to the newcomer group. You can print it yourselves."
The student was visibly bewildered.
"You can also record the drawing process with your phones."
His words were met with puzzled silence from the class.
"Although we're a mystic school, we use modern teaching techniques. You should be smart and use your phones when it's time to record something."
Logan sighed. It was the 21st century, yet these students were stuck in old-school ways of hand-copying things when they could use their phones.
Ridiculous.
