Everyone watched the unfolding scene with bated breath.
The next second, they saw another talisman dart toward the black, ghastly energy. Then, a clear yet imposing voice chanted, "Heaven's thunder roars, earth's thunder groans, six heavens above, six hells below…"
As she chanted, the onlookers watched as dark clouds rapidly gathered above the roof out of nowhere.
Having glimpsed the type of talisman Shannon shot out, Juniper shifted his expression and quickly dragged Eddie and Olivia backward. Then, he shouted, "Everyone, duck!"
At that moment, the indoor cameraman and Lucy lost their bearings. Vincent, quickly grasping his intention, pulled Lucy and the cameraman to duck.
In the meantime, Shannon calmly finished the chant. "I wield the decree, to sever the thunder's might, boom, with power and light!"
As the last word rang, a bolt of lightning above them suddenly struck the black, ghastly energy, creating a loud boom!
The black, ghastly energy was scattered slightly. With another crack of thunder, most of the ghastly energy was dispelled. Everyone snapped back to reality, finally making out the figure that had been shrouded in the ghastly energy… It was a ghost.
After meeting the powerful spirit at last, Shannon discreetly frowned, asking, "Are you a man or woman?"
Juniper and others had just regained their senses from the thunder when their focus quickly diverted to the powerful spirit, bound by the spirit-fixing talismans.
Then, they felt a sense of bewilderment. Wasn't that obviously a male ghost? Although dressed in vintage clothing, it was still clearly a man!
"She's a woman disguised as a man!" Lucy exclaimed.
Having filmed period dramas for years, and having worked on many scenes featuring women disguised as men, Lucy immediately detected what was happening. However, the appearance of this powerful spirit was much more reserved and made it harder for others to discern at first glance.
"You're right. I am a woman." The powerful spirit piped up again, this time her tone slightly more feminine than before. However, it was still full of masculinity. Perhaps she had gotten used to speaking that way and struggled to adjust in time.
"Who are you? Why are you disrupting their production?" Shannon suddenly paused, then softened her tone. "Why are you so fixated on those persecuted women?"
The powerful spirit gazed at her and slowly calmed down. After a pause, she softly asked, "Have you heard of The Firstborn's Woe?"
