Shannon's first reaction to his message was feeling warmed by his gesture. Immediately, she discarded her message for Kai and focused on replying to Benjamin.

"Thank you. By the way, Hector will drop by later to collect the array talisman I placed in your study. They'll feel safer with those talismans in their rooms."

After sending it, she felt somewhat inconsiderate toward Benjamin and added, "I've set some arrays in your villa too. Those are more effective than the array talisman. You can rest assured."

Benjamin read the incoming messages, and although those were mere texts without any emojis, he could imagine Shannon's dainty yet serious face saying those words.

Alson regained his composure and quickly apologized, secretly complaining, "Oh, Mr. Cooper. Weren't you just texting? How did you have time to notice my itty-bitty mistake?"
