Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 447

"Can I have a hug, Dad?"

Back then, Shannon would always see Francis hugging Rachel with all smiles, and he'd love every time he sent or picked her up from school. In moments like those, Shannon was always the bystander.

She wasn't particularly envious of their bond back then, but upon experiencing farewell with Adam, she wanted to know how it would feel to embrace her dad.

Adam was visibly dazed when he heard her words.

Since Shannon's return, he had tried his best to be the perfect father, constantly looking after her. The only time when they felt most like a father and daughter was when the three of them went to get coffee. However, that was without any hugging.

It didn't take Adam long to regain his composure as he quickly extended his arms, ready for Shannon's embrace. To his surprise, Hector was one step ahead and hugged her.

An involuntary twitch danced on the corner of his eye, and he was ready to pull the two apart when Scott came hugging them.

Adam darkened his expression upon seeing there was no space for him to join the hug. "Let go, all of you! Behave yourself in front of the camera!" He was the one Shannon wanted to hug, so what were these two doing?

A smiling Hector raised his brows at him in response without any words, as if conveying, "Who told you to be in a daze earlier? We can't just leave Shannon hanging, right?"

Aware they were still on a livestream, Hector released Shannon from his embrace soon enough and tugged Scott away in the meantime.

Following the same method she had used at the temple in the wilderness, she performed a spell on the paper figures and instructed them to guide them down the mountain.

Adam was stunned to see two moving paper figures. Seeing how excited they were to lead them down the mountain, Hector quickly followed suit and left Adam behind. Shannon waved him goodbye.

Adam was about to turn around and leave when he suddenly changed his mind and embraced her.

Shannon was momentarily stunned; the hug was brief and ended almost immediately. He wasn't used to hugging anyone. When he released her, he lightly patted her shoulder and left with the others.

She watched as the trio departed against the backdrop of the setting sun. After a while, a charming, gentle smile curved at the corner of her lips. Under the glow of the evening sky, her smile seemed particularly gentle.
