Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 427

Initially dazed, a bright smile soon graced Hector's handsome face before he rose and carried her. With ease, they descended the stairs.

Standing at the door to the study, Benjamin witnessed the scene and felt a vague sense of bewilderment. Having been accustomed to her composed look when spellcasting, he almost forgot she was only an 18-year-old girl who would still act affectionately with her family.

That… was sweet.

Meanwhile, Scott had been waiting for Shannon downstairs. When he saw her pale expression, he frantically ran toward her. "Didn't… Didn't you say you were fine? You can't even walk now! I told you to see a doctor, but you refused to listen!"

What if this worsened her condition?

Hector was at a loss for words. Had he not been carrying Shannon, he would've given Scott a good smack for what he'd just said. However, considering that he was genuinely concerned, he held back.

"Enough. She's fine. Let's go home." With that, Hector walked away. Noticing the rare, relaxed expression on Shannon's face, Scott belatedly realized Hector was simply playing around by carrying her.

He continued to mutter and grumble while following them back to the Jensen residence.

From his words, Shannon found out that after they'd left, Wyatt and Mavis had questioned the latter's sister, Patricia, and confirmed there was no ill intent from her. However, they couldn't locate the old man who had sold her the tridacna shell.

Mavis was furious, warning Patricia not to bring items of unknown origin into her house ever again.

At night, Shannon received Mitchell's reply, informing her that he couldn't locate the seller of the tridacna bunny figure and that they might've lost their lead.

He reminded her, "Since the other party has targeted you, they might attack in the future. Do you need me to send someone from the team to keep an eye on them?" He meant keeping an eye on the Jensens.

Now that she thought about it, she had caused quite a bit of trouble for Benjamin since moving in. Now, she even siphoned her spiritual energy from him.

Seemingly having seen through her embarrassment, Benjamin pondered briefly and asked, "He came for me from the start. Would he be willing to sign a binding contract with you?"

Shanon thought, "There's no way he'd refuse. Allowing him to stay close to you is already his greatest gift."

"If he refuses, I'll just make him return to the mountain. What more could he want when I've offered him to stay at my place? Staying with you?"

It was a casual remark, but after hearing it, Benjamin cleared his throat and replied, "That works."

Shannon was at a loss for words. Did he realize what he had just said?
