Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 418

Upon hearing Shannon's words, Wyatt was visibly taken aback.

Though suspicion still lingered in his eyes as he looked at her, he asked in a deep voice, "How can you prove it?"

"I brought the protective talisman back, and Reese has been wearing it ever since without taking it off. If she hadn't suddenly had an episode last night, I wouldn't have noticed something was wrong with the talisman."

"Why should I prove something I didn't do?" Shannon's gaze remained indifferent. She looked at Wyatt and showed no signs of fluster or guilt under his aggressive questioning.

"You have two choices right now. First, find someone else to save your daughter, gather evidence to prove I used dark arts to harm her, and arrest me.

"Or, shut up and take me to see your daughter now." Shannon's attitude was firm and unyielding.

Wyatt scrutinized her for a while. He prided himself on being able to read people, but Shannon didn't seem to be lying.

If Shannon wasn't exceptionally good at disguising herself at such a young age, it meant she truly had nothing to do with what had happened.

The only other possibility was that someone in his household had tampered with Reese Gibson's protective talisman. Realizing this, Wyatt's impulsive mind calmed down.

His expression softened, and he quickly made his choice based on Shannon's earlier suggestion. "Please come home with me and check on Reese. If you can heal her, I'll apologize for my earlier outburst."

As the eldest son of the Gibsons, Wyatt had always taken pride in his status. But he knew when to give in as nothing was more important than Reese's safety right now.

Standing nearby, Scott snorted. "You accused Shannon without knowing the facts, and now you shamelessly ask her for help? How thick-skinned can you be? Do you think you can order around the daughter of the Jensens whenever you like?"

Already frustrated as a father with a sick child, Wyatt was now being openly rebuked by Scott, a much younger boy. His anger was almost impossible to suppress, but he held back his temper when thinking of his daughter.

He raised his hand to touch the emerald pendant around his neck worth 200 thousand dollars and suddenly felt Shannon treated him quite well. Compared to the eight-million-dollar price, the emerald pendant was definitely a family discount.

Wyatt frowned slightly at Shannon's demand for eight million. Considering that protective talisman from her cost two thousand dollars, eight million seemed like a deliberate markup.

But compared to Reese's safety, eight million was nothing. Wyatt agreed without hesitation.

Shannon then called toward the stairs, and soon, Marshmallow came running down with a small familiar knapsack.

Taking the knapsack from Marshmallow, Shannon casually patted its head and instructed Thomas to give it some treats as a reward. She was ready to head out with Wyatt.

Seeing this, Scott immediately declared wanting to go with them.
