Shannon and the wyrm were still at a standoff when Carlos, Vincent, Olivia, and some villagers hurriedly arrived at the scene.
Everything seemed fine. James and the cameraman, who had fainted, were also woken up by the commotion around them.
Everyone let out a long sigh of relief.
Carlos noticed that Shannon was talking to a young man. So, he couldn't help it as he stepped forward.
"Shannon, who's this?"
Shannon didn't dare reveal the young man's real identity. When she saw the cameraman coming over, she repeated her previous excuse.
"He's a young man I know. He… happened to be in the area, and when he found out that I'm livestreaming here, he came over to meet me."
Carlos glanced at the young man and then at the weasels in the latter's hands. In an instant, he seemed to have realized something. Leaning near Shannon's ear, he asked in a whisper, "By that, do you mean… he's an apprentice like you?"
Shannon was a true master, and Carlos had already come to terms with that fact. As for this young man, who had appeared out of nowhere and captured six weasels with great ease, there must be more to him than met the eye as well.
So, Carlos subconsciously assumed that this young man was a mystic arts practitioner as well.
After all, a normal family wouldn't have allowed a child to roam around outdoors in the middle of the night.
Shannon couldn't find a decent excuse to deny Carlos' assumptions, so she decisively admitted to it.
"…Yes."
Carlos was asking in a very small voice, but his microphone picked up their conversation either way.
When the audience heard that the beautiful young man was Shannon's fellow apprentice, they instantly abandoned their previous fears. They started spamming the comments section, greeting the young man in a friendly tone.
Realizing that the whole village was startled by the commotion, Shannon decisively went over to them with the young man in tow.
Everyone noticed the weasels in the young man's hands right away.
Setting aside his strength, just his ability to grab three weasels in each hand was an indicator that there was something unusual about him.
Juniper had a slightly stern expression on his face. The chief and the villagers were in disbelief.
"So… everything that had happened in the village recently… was the doing of these weasels?"
Weasels were from the Weasel Order of the Five Deities.
When the young man beside her heard that, he added, "There's more than just these six. A few of them escaped just now."
He just couldn't be bothered to capture all of them.
When the chief saw the young man grabbing the weasels, he didn't know where the young man came from. However, he was very sure that there was more to this young man than met the eye. So, he spoke in a polite tone.
"What do we do with these weasels, then? If we let them go, will they come back and cause trouble again?"
But if the weasels weren't freed, the chief was worried that more revenge would be exacted on them.
After all, if weasels couldn't avenge themselves, they would get the next generation to do it for them.
The village depended on the mountains for survival. If they offended these mountain creatures, they would get into endless trouble in the future.
If negotiations were possible, the villagers would want to get along with those creatures.
"We'll lock them up for now," Shannon said, "I'll take them to the mountains tomorrow morning to free them."
Her main objective was to go into the mountains and find the mastermind behind these weasels.
