"Didn't Juniper and Shannon claim that he owed no karmic debt?"
"Maybe he's really good at hiding it, so much so that Shannon and Juniper couldn't even pick up on it."
"There's no way Shannon got it wrong! If she said there's no karmic debt, then there isn't!"
"No culprit can get past Shannon and Juniper on this show!"
"You know, I also believe in Shannon…"
As the viewers continued to argue in the livestream chat, Irvin was enraged by Eddie's questioning comment.
Before he could get a word in, Shannon interjected, "Mr. Keller didn't do it. What happened back then was indeed an accident."
After all, the spirits of those who died unjustly wouldn't pass on that easily.
Irvin's expression eased a little, and he turned to the camera with his usual expression of sorrow.
Upon seeing this, the viewers in the livestream chat once again expressed their renewed faith in love.
With a penetrating gaze, Shannon watched him off-camera. "I've watched the videos you've shared online over the past two years. The ones that recount the story of you and your wife.
"I believe that what happened back then was indeed an accident, and I believe you truly meant it when you said you would have died in her place. Or at least that's how it seemed at first when you were genuinely grieving her death."
Upon hearing Shannon's statement, Irvin felt a bit of relief. Yet he felt that something was amiss when he heard the latter part of Shannon's statement.
"When I first met you, I noticed that there were quite a few love affairs in your house of balance. I figured you were using these women's admiration for your love story and their sympathy to manipulate them into sleeping with you.
"Neither you nor your deceased wife could have foreseen that her lingering affection, rooted in her deep care for you, would turn into a grudge due to your change of heart.
"It's due to these lingering grudges that the couples staying at the inn often end up breaking up."
Irvin exploited their love for his own personal gain.
Because he had betrayed their love, he caused those affected couples to inevitably start doubting their own relationships.
And thus, the so-called "breakup curse" was born.
