Soon, the array activated. The gathered energies condensed into a thin wisp of green smoke, which flowed smoothly into the divination compass in Lexie's hand.
"The direction's clear. Let's go," she said, lifting her foot and leading the way.
Mike and Felicia quickly followed behind. Meanwhile, the Day couple remained at the foot of the mountain.
If the trio didn't return by the third day, they would contact the authorities immediately.
Soon, Lexie, Mike, and Felicia disappeared into the forest path, swallowed by trees and shadow. They followed a trail once beaten down by hikers, winding deeper into the mountain.
Felicia had assumed the two to struggle with the terrain, considering they were young, city-looking, and clearly not career outdoorsmen. She had even prepared to take the lead.
To her surprise, both moved like they had grown up in the mountains. Their pace was steady, sure-footed, and even faster than hers—and she was the one who trekked for fun!
What she didn't know—probably due to her lack of knowledge about Sixth Sense—was who she was really hiking with.
Had she recognized them as Shannon's teammates, she might've realized that the Seastone School of Mystic Arts was located on Serene Crest.
The campus basically trained its students to walk every inch of the mountain barefoot. Mountain hikes weren't a challenge for them; they were coursework.
After spending most of the day trekking, they finally arrived at the outer edge of the exploration zone. Seeing that it was getting dark, Lexie unhesitatingly stopped.
She found a decent spot to camp, while Mike started setting up wards around them to keep bugs and animals out. She then sat down on a rock, pulled out her phone, and started scrolling.
It wasn't until then that Felicia noticed neither of them had brought anything for camping. She pulled out her own tent, about to offer to share, when Lexie suddenly asked, "What do you want for dinner?"
Felicia blinked, confused, but Mike casually responded, "There are three of us here. Four dishes should do."
Now, she was more than confused. Something wasn't right! They were out in the middle of nowhere, so how would they order food?
Their bags definitely didn't look like they carried any kind of supplies. Were they going to get takeout delivered out here for real?
