At first, Benjamin had been working on emerald-carving too, mostly to keep Shannon company.
Before long, he grew annoyed at the emerald shavings flying everywhere and gave up on the craft altogether. Instead, he decided to just watch her crave.
From time to time, he'd help her clear the emerald shavings or offer her a sip of water.
The two of them sat there in peaceful silence until the screen of a nearby phone lit up with a new message.
Benjamin glanced over to the phone set aside as Benji Gold and Shanny Gold raced toward it. One in front and one behind, they hauled the phone over and plopped it down in front of Shannon.
Benji Gold held the phone up while Shanny Gold climbed up and used its stubby hands to swipe and unlock the screen. Then, it pulled up the message tab.
Shannon didn't have to lift a finger. She glanced over and saw that it was a message from Olivia again with slightly confusing content.
Olivia: "Shannon, could you assign Skylar a mission in the name of the Special Security Agency, just to keep him busy?"
Shannon raised an eyebrow. Instead of replying right away, she wiped her hands clean and pulled up a message from Skylar sent two days ago.
Skylar: "Do you know Olivia's current filming location and schedule?"
She wasn't hiding anything on purpose, so sitting right beside her, Benjamin caught the message as well. He raised an eyebrow and asked, "What's going on?"
She glanced at Skylar's message, then at Olivia's, before quickly arriving at a conclusion. "They probably had a fight."
One was trying to track the other down, while the other wanted to get rid of him. But for some reason, it felt like their roles were reversed.
Benjamin didn't care much about other people's drama, but since they requested Shannon's help, he asked, "Do you want to get involved?"
If she did, he could have Luke arrange something.
Shannon thought about it for a second and shook her head. "No need."
