Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 2400

Zidane hadn't come for anything else. He gave a brief account of Gus and what happened in his village.

"I was hoping you could take a look at the kid," Zidane said. "I couldn't sense a trace of spiritual energy from him, but there's something special about him."

Otherwise, even with the special mystic network interference at the time, there was no way he should've been able to place an order through MysticApp.

Shannon wasn't unfamiliar with cases of human trafficking in remote villages. Back when she appeared as a cast member of Sixth Sense, both offline and online viewers had asked her to help in finding missing family members.

Although much of this world's catastrophe had been absorbed by the alternate world, suffering never truly disappeared. Evil still lurked in the corners where no one looked.

What surprised Shannon was simply that Zidane had taken the initiative to get involved in something like this. Still, no matter how unexpected, there was no reason to refuse such a simple request.

Without a second thought, she said, "I'll find some time to check in on that kid, Gus."

Zidane had known she would agree, so he simply nodded and added, "Also, his mother's soul is fragmented. You can have someone from the mystic arts keep an eye on that.

"And for those villagers who developed festering sores from the curse, tell the Special Security Agency that they don't need to intervene. Once their sins burn off, the sores will vanish on their own."

He continued, "As for the unidentified women and children from the village, I know the Jensen family's charity under Zane's name, which is always helping with missing persons.

"You should have them assist in tracking their families. And yeah… That's about all."

How easily and casually had he laid out his requests?

Shannon was deadpan once again. Three separate tasks, casually handed off in a few sentences, were ended with a "that's about all"?

She glanced at Mordecai beside him, whose expression remained perfectly calm, as if none of this surprised him.

After all, Zidane had always been the type to intervene, not clean up. He was good at handling problems at the front end, but never stuck around to tie up the aftermath.

Take the incident with Chancellor Bairne, for example. The entire clean-up had basically been done by Mordecai alone.

He had long suspected Zidane had placed him in charge of the Sixth Tribunal for this exact reason, so that there would always be someone around to clean up after him.

Apparently, nothing had changed.
