Previously, the Devil Hunter Association hadn't reacted quickly enough, allowing the alternate world to descend first. Now that there was a way to reverse the Rift Vortex, Erick still wanted to give it a try.
"I don't side with anyone. I just want to resolve the chaos at hand."
Though they were vampires or devil hunters capable of protecting themselves, the fact that the Alternates were trying to replace the Originals was something the Devil Hunter Association couldn't ignore.
The man let out a mocking "oh" and replied, "The righteous Ricky. Why don't you get the DHA to cooperate with them?"
He didn't wait for Erick's answer before continuing, "Let me guess—the DHA can't be bothered to respond to their plea, right? Even the so-called righteous devil hunters won't cooperate, and yet you come to me?"
The man seemed to be mocking Erick's actions, but Erick simply locked his deep eyes onto him without arguing. "You still owe me a favor. I'm here today to collect on it."
As long as the man representing the first-generation vampires cooperated with him, vampires worldwide would follow suit. Since he couldn't persuade the Devil Hunter Association, at least he could leverage the vampires' power.
Once one person took action, even the Devil Hunter members, driven by their own pride not to be outdone by vampires, wouldn't maintain a detached attitude any longer.
Hearing that Erick was willing to use his only favor for such a cause, the man on the couch finally looked at him directly.
After a long pause, he finally said, "Let me be clear—I'm just a vampire. I don't understand whatever Crisean arrays you're talking about."
At that, Erick quickly replied, "I do. I'll draw the array according to theirs. You just need to lend your power to it."
