Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 2186

The fox fur was as white as snow, resembling the strand Louise had given Shannon, except that it differed slightly.

Without explaining, Shannon simply held the fox fur and formed a mudra. "Recall!"

She gently blew on the strand of fox fur in her palm as the clear incantation sounded.

The snow-white strand floated before her, then dissolved into shimmering light, scattering across the unfolding domain ahead.

The scene before Thalia shifted. It wasn't her first time entering Shannon's mind domain, yet this time felt markedly different.

Rather than a domain, it was more like an illusion conjured from a piece of Shannon's memory.

Her perspective hovered in the air, drifting down an ancient-style courtyard corridor before turning into a bedroom, where she saw Louise.

Not just her, but Edmund was there, too.

Thalia felt her chest tighten. She had always held close memories of her father. In her mind, he had always been a man of wit and charm—scholarly, graceful, and full of warmth.

He used to write fascinating storybooks about spirits and monsters and would often read them to her.

He once said that every tale he penned came from the inspiration Louise gave him. He mentioned that Louise was the most beautiful of all the powerful demons.

He had also said that she had loved them deeply.

As a child, Thalia believed all of that. As she grew older, however, she began to think those words had been lies, ones that her father had told to protect her feelings.

After all, if Louise had truly loved them, why would she have disappeared for so many years? If she hadn't vanished so suddenly, Edmund would never have gone searching for her and died trying to do so.

Even after she was brought back to Wynthorpe Manor, Louise had rarely shown her much affection.

Thalia didn't understand when she was young. As she grew older, she began to gradually realize something—her birth had always been nothing more than a mere experiment.

She seemed to have softened her attitude and sat down as he asked.

At that, he took the opportunity to request placing his ear against her belly so he could listen to their unborn daughter's movements.

As a demon, she had already known her child was a daughter, despite not being born yet.

Thalia watched, seeing Louise, typically firm and would rather take action than waste time arguing with the clan members, now giving in to Edmund's soft words and allowing him to indulge in his behaviour once again.

After listening to the fetal sounds, he gazed at her with complete tenderness in his eyes.

He said, "Our daughter will grow up to be just like you—beautiful and strong. When she's born, I'll bury 18 barrels of the wine I personally made right under the pear tree in our yard.

"And when she gets married, I'll give her this entire estate, along with the 18 barrels of wine, as a gift for her future."
