Trevaris blinked blankly before snapping out of it and shouting, "Shannon was swept away by a turbulent stream! Benjamin followed her in!"
Everyone felt a wave of dizziness crash over them.
Space-time chaos! Of all things, why did they have to run into that?
Now that Shannon and Benjamin were caught in it, what timeline had they ended up in? And more importantly, how would they return?
…
In the minds of many, Shannon and Benjamin's divine souls had fallen into separate timelines.
Though Benjamin had immediately jumped into the space-time chaos that swept Shannon away, the two of them had still failed to land in the same timeline.
Benjamin's divine soul now floated above a winding mountain range. He had not taken over any host body, and instead, was observing the terrain overlooking Celestria a thousand years later.
Or rather, what used to be Celestria. Though the land remained, time had split it into several kingdoms.
Benemir's legacy and his descendants had long since faded into history, but Benjamin had no interest in probing into that.
Instead, he followed a familiar presence and found the phoenix, Velquin, a millennium older.
After a millennium, the once-teary-eyed Velquin he'd just seen days ago had now become the same elegant, easygoing figure Benjamin had met when they first became friends.
Dressed in a red robe, Velquin now lay leisurely across a branch. He was munching on a fruit as he muttered under his breath, "It's been a thousand years… Why aren't you waking up?"
Then, he suddenly sat up and solemnly announced, "Guess I'll rehearse again, just to be ready."
As Benjamin's divine soul watched, Velquin earnestly began rehearsing.
First, he transformed into his majestic phoenix form and summoned white birds to circle above.
Then, he landed gracefully and returned to the human form of an elegant, red-robed young lad. "Hello, Lucan. I'm Velquin. Do you still remember me?"
If given the chance to do it all again, he would never walk away so coldly.
…
Meanwhile, Shannon had been swept into a different timeline. Just like Benjamin, her divine soul hovered mid-air and encountered a familiar figure from another timeline.
The person before her was none other than Louise.
Though her snow-white, floor-length hair was tied up in elegant black locks, the languid dominance in her features remained unchanged. She was still the same old Louise Shannon knew.
A man in ancient robes stood before Louise. His familiar facial features carried a graceful warmth and refinement, and there was a faint, blood-bound familiarity about him.
Shannon froze.
This man was Thalia's father. Did that make him… her grandfather?
