Shannon's words were met with complete silence from the great hall.
The most shocked were none other than Malcolm and Maeric. The latter couldn't hold back and stepped forward. "You're going to the west? You're a woman; what do you know about war…"
He wanted to reprimand her for her recklessness. It was more important for her to stay in the palace and leave the King an heir.
But before he could finish, Shannon shot him a sharp look.
Serelith, with the timid, gentle gaze, was long gone. Who stared him down now was a young queen just 15 years old, but her armored look exuded a chilling and decisive aura.
"I am the queen of Celestria. Now that the nation faces peril, it is only right that I stand and fall with His Majesty."
She turned her gaze to the gathered courtiers and continued, "As for war, it's true that I don't understand its ways. But if it's about repelling mythical beasts, protecting the western lands, and stabilizing morale, I will not shy away from the task."
As she spoke, she formed a mudra with one hand. A glimmer of mystic light flashed at her fingertips.
A second later, a fire phoenix, formed from Treavris, swept into the hall from outside the palace. It circled above the assembly before transforming into a mini fire phoenix, perched on Shannon's shoulder.
Phoenix flames swirled around, but when the phoenix rested on her shoulder, the fire did not harm her in the slightest.
It was only now that everyone realized Shannon was far more than just the Chosen One.
Silence enveloped the hall. Then, one of the military generals stepped forward and saluted. "I, Victor Warrick, request to accompany Her Majesty and will devote myself to serving by her side!"
Once one spoke up, more followed. Some asked to ride with the King, others with the Queen, while others requested to be assigned to the two remaining borders.
These generals had been preparing for war, but Benjamin's sudden decision to lead the charge had thrown their plans into disarray.
Royal edicts of the King and Queen personally leading the army spread quickly and ignited fervor among the court and commoners.
But neither Shannon nor Benjamin had time to dwell on the public sentiment.
With the royal edict in place, soldiers from all four regions began assembling and preparing for war. The remaining two borders were entrusted to Lucan and Elowen, aside from Benjamin and Shannon.
They should not be involved, but since these wars were tied to the rise of mystical beasts, their intervention did not violate the Divine Power's mandate.
Still, the two of them harbored one deep concern.
"The four calamity beasts have emerged one after another. But regardless of whether it's Crimshound, Firedrake, or Scarsore, they're infamous but not actually terrifying."
Once war erupted across the regions and chaos spread, that was when true beasts would descend upon the world.
