Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 2067

Hector didn't dwell on the thought. He had far more important matters to attend to, compared to his non-ringing soul bell.

Now, he had one more. It was to wait for Shannon and Benjamin's return.

Louise, who'd just stepped into her mind domain and regained her original appearance, suddenly remembered something a little too late.

She'd forgotten to tell the others that the time-travel portal she'd extended for Shannon's group with her supernatural energy wasn't to three thousand years ago. It was to six thousand years ago, back to where it all began.

The sensation of having consciousness travel through time was not pleasant at all.

Shannon felt like her consciousness was drowning in chaos. When she opened her eyes again, her surroundings were ice-cold.

A freezing wind howled through the window, and she found herself lying on the frosty floor, staring eye to eye with a ghost lady hovering mid-air.

"W-Who are you? Why are you in my body?"

The ghost lady, or more accurately, the original owner of the body, Serelith Ignis, floated nervously. She was clearly terrified.

Since this was a time-travel of consciousness, the Soul Tree would always send them into the bodies of the newly deceased to prevent them from becoming wandering ghosts.

In other words, this was a rebirth. That was why Shannon wasn't surprised when she opened her eyes to see the soul of the body's previous owner.

After shaking off the dizziness, she pushed herself up and said, "I'm here to find someone, and I'll have to temporarily borrow your body. In return, I'll fulfill one of your unresolved wishes."

Serelith blinked at her words. Then, as if remembering something, her gaze dimmed. "My body isn't in good shape… Why don't you borrow someone else's? Someone with a better body…"

While she was talking, Shannon had cast the Art of Soul Stabilization to anchor her soul shard deeper into the body.

They wouldn't give her up. To protect her status from doubt, they publicly claimed that Serelith was just a distant orphaned cousin after taking her home.

Since then, Serelith's life in the Ignis residence had been one of neglect and mistreatment from the housekeepers. She died in just three months and barely made it to her eighteenth birthday.

Shannon hadn't expected to stumble into another switched-at-birth destiny. After listening quietly, she asked, "Do you want revenge?"

Serelith looked startled. A flash of hatred crossed her eyes, but her timid nature held her back. She dared not imagine such a thing even in death.

Instead, she placed all her hopes on Shannon, a foreign soul. "Will you help me get revenge?"

Shannon shook her head. "I promised to fulfill one wish, but revenge affects karma, so you'll have to do it yourself."

Serelith's head drooped as she drifted further away. "B-But I don't know how…"

Shannon gave her a sidelong glance and said, "It's simple. I'll teach you."
