"A troublemaker, huh?"
Lexie had similarly noticed the man queuing outside. Her first reaction was to drive him out.
Wasn't he aware of what kind of seminar it was? Nobody would believe that he wasn't trying to stir up trouble, with this many ghosts in tow.
Meanwhile, Heston had his gaze fixed on the man, ready to teleport at any second.
However, before they could do anything, Mike's unhurried voice drifted over. "That's the walking curse who's targeted Shannon."
Lexie turned her head, surprised to see Mike had appeared at one point. He donned an exquisitely made uniform and stood casually, a contrast to his deliberate pose in the poster.
He scoffed. "He might as well write 'murder debt' on his forehead."
Her ears perked up at his statements. She quickly pulled him aside and asked, "What's going on? What walking curse and target on Shannon?"
Why did she have no idea about this? Had Shannon and Mike been excluding her lately?
Faced with Lexie's intense stare, he dared not be mysterious and quickly told her what he had seen from his divination reading for Shannon.
Shannon was a mystic master by birth, but her fate had long since shifted with the added karmic threads brought on by her demon clan bloodline.
The destiny of the demon clan was notoriously difficult to read, and ordinary mystic masters couldn't even begin to glimpse it.
However, Mike had been researching this exact field over the past couple of years, and Lexie trusted his judgment completely.
So, when they found out someone actually dared to target Shannon, Lexie was ready to roll up her sleeves and handle it personally.
Ill intentions aside, just the sheer amount of ghosts lingering behind the man was enough to raise a red flag.
As Shannon's contracted phantom helper, Leah hadn't been neglected over the past two years; Shannon's cultivation had only strengthened her in return.
Her ghastly power had grown noticeably, far beyond what it once was.
Indeed, she now carried the presence befitting a century-old ghost. As Shannon would put it, "She's no baby ghost anymore."
Since Leah was a formally contracted phantom helper, her presence didn't raise any alarms among the practitioners attending the event.
So, she flew openly over the crowd, completely unbothered, heading in the same direction the man had been led away.
As she passed over the dozen or so ghosts lingering near the entrance, too intimidated to approach after seeing the man taken by the agents, Leah couldn't help but scold them in irritation.
"There are so many of you, yet none of you could handle a single human? Honestly, you're an embarrassment to ghosts everywhere!"
