Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1985

"Don't worry. You won't suffer any losses."

The man in regal clothing watched coldly, his expression still icy but not visibly angry.

Shannon ignored him entirely and turned to leave with Benjamin, stepping through the spatial rift and reemerging in the original Phantom Market.

The market was bustling with activity, the atmosphere signaling the final moments before closing.

Shannon understood immediately why Benjamin had brought her back here instead of straight to the main tournament venue.

According to the rules, a participant only passed the round if they successfully redeemed their item and returned to the venue.

If he had taken her straight back, it would've looked like she had cheated her way through. Even if it wasn't technically the case, people would still talk.

"Can you go back on your own?" Benjamin asked her.

Shannon nodded. Activating a ghost gate back to the venue was a walk in the park.

He stepped aside, giving her space to pull out two black talismans. "Dark Mountain, heed the call, and hundreds of ghosts shall rise. Three ghost gates, open wide!"

The black talismans flew out, releasing the ghastly energy of the King of the Dark Mountain.

In an instant, several strands of dark mist seemed to materialize, stretching apart as if tugging at the very fabric of space.

A ghost gate suddenly manifested in the split space.

At that moment, the Ghost King, far away in the Dark Mountain, seemed to sense a disturbance.

His eyes slowly flickered open, his brow furrowing in displeasure. With a commanding tone, he muttered, "Who dares to steal my ghastly energy?"

This time, it was Shannon's turn to become silent. Had she just offended the God of the Underworld, the ruler of the dead?

If she had known things would turn out like this, she wouldn't have handed the scroll over to Zidane. Why would she stick her toe into Zidane and Morvahn's business?

Nevertheless, it was too late for her to regret it. The damage had been done.

If things went south, she would just let Zidane clean up the mess. After all, the whole situation started with his face on that painting.

Benjamin had been about to reassure her not to worry about Morvahn's wrath, but before he could speak, Shannon had already shrugged it off on her own.

"Forget it. Whatever it is, it can wait till the tournament is over."

With that, she gave him a casual wave and turned, stepping decisively into the ghost gate. As the gate sealed shut behind her, her figure vanished.
