There was always someone for everyone, whose mere glance was enough to make the other person pour their heart out.
Benjamin was precisely that person for Shannon.
Shannon buried her face deeply in his chest, afraid to lift her hands. Instead, she clenched a fist and, almost as a way to release her emotions, gently struck his shoulder.
After the first strike, it wasn't enough, so she did it again.
Benjamin didn't move, simply holding her and allowing her to express herself. But after the second strike, when the third didn't come, he looked down in confusion and unexpectedly felt a faint wetness on his chest.
His heart felt as though it had been seared by something, a sharp, intense pain. He gently loosened his embrace and carefully reached out to touch her cheek.
Before his hand could make contact, though, she slapped it away.
Benjamin didn't give up. With a persistent, slightly firm touch, he gently cupped her cheeks, holding her face until he caught sight of her reddened eyes in the golden light.
His dark eyes froze, and for a moment, he was at a loss for words. The emotions swirling in his chest surged, and before he could make sense of what they were, he had already leaned down and kissed her.
Shannon's eyelashes fluttered for a brief moment, but the next second, she closed her eyes, responding without hesitation to the person before her.
Her hands climbed up to his neck and shoulders, and their breaths intertwined, blending with the pulsating golden light around them.
Above them, it seemed as though a distant thunder rumbled. The sky had unknowingly gathered dark clouds, signaling the impending arrival of a storm.
On the second floor, Thalia, who had been sneakily watching the young couple downstairs with Adam, instinctively looked up at the sky and clicked her tongue.
She cursed the Divine Power for ruining the mood and, without giving much thought to her supernatural power not fully recovering, prepared to act. She had to stop the rain from falling for her precious child!
Before she could complete the spell in her hands, Benjamin, in the garden, had already raised his hand. A golden light shot out from his palm, heading straight toward the darkening clouds above.
As his movement unfolded, Shanny Gold and Benji Gold, who had been shyly nestled in a pocket, seemed to sense something.
In an instant, he transformed into a massive black dragon, launching himself into the air with a single powerful motion.
He could easily stop a rain shower, he thought. In the meantime, he would also take the chance to educate Kai, the new, young dragon, on some rules about their dragon clan.
That day, many demon clans in Jamborough sensed the two powerful dragon energies swirling above the dark clouds. One was familiar, while the other was young and somewhat unfamiliar.
They assumed a dragon clan must have decided to summon rain today, perhaps even a twin dragon vortex. With such a display, it was bound to be a heavy storm.
The clans hurriedly warned their demon younglings to stay indoors and not wander about, while many mystic masters had already prepared for the anticipated downpour.
However, the expected storm never came. Instead, the dark clouds gathered above Jamborough slowly dissipated as the black and the silver-white dragons twisted through them.
The thunder that had rumbled in the clouds was dispelled, and the clouds parted. The heavy rain that had been building up failed to fall, and within moments, the sky was forcibly restored to a clear, calm state.
No one knew why the rain never came.
