Kai had made some new friends at the demonic school. Naturally, he had to make a special announcement regarding his evolution.
However, he threw that matter to the back of his head when he saw his tattered self. If only he could find a few candid photos of him summoning rain online…
Shannon took in his eagerness, paused briefly, and asked, "Are you sure you want to take it now?"
Although his current dragon form was quite impressive, it was too dainty. She knew he wouldn't want his first appearance in his new form to be as a mini dragon.
Kai assured her, "Don't worry, and just spam that shutter button. I'll ask Scott to help me with the post-editing."
As gaming buddies, Kai was well aware of Scott's image-editing skills, which were just as impressive as some of the top experts online.
Shannon didn't know what to say but decided to follow his wishes and took a dozen or so photos. Later that evening, she saw a new photo posted by Kai in his social media feed.
The image showed a silver-armored, silver-white giant dragon, its form graceful yet exuding a divine aura. Behind it, the sky was filled with storm clouds, swirling ominously.
Hundreds of bolts of lightning flashed from the clouds, all seeming to target the silver-white dragon.
The scene was intense and imposing, dramatic and heroic. Yet, the dragon's gaze was unwavering, filled with resolve and unafraid, staring boldly ahead.
Shannon was speechless. She did a visual comparison of the dragon in the photo and the mini one before her. For a moment, she understood what catfishing meant.
Had she not seen the real deal, she would've been fooled by the dragon in the photo.
At some point, Albany floated over and observed the photo on Shannon's phone. After a prolonged silence, right before she thought it would burst into laughter, it said, "Shannon, I want a photo like that, too."
Right then, Kai stopped mid-sentence as if suddenly realizing something.
He stiffened his tiny body and turned to meet Shannon's gaze. Her expression was calm, but there was an undercurrent of something else—a storm brewing beneath that calm.
Shannon had thought about it over the past few days.
Could the scene she saw back then have been just an illusion? But if it were an illusion, why would it include her being targeted by the Divine Power's calamity lightning?
She didn't believe in coincidences. If there was someone else who had seen the same scene she had witnessed in her vision, it could only mean one thing—that person had also seen it in reality.
Now, she was certain of what she had suspected all along. It wasn't an illusion; it was reality.
