As soon as the words left his mouth, Kai transformed back into his battered silver-white dragon form without waiting for the two to stop him.
With a resounding dragon's roar, he darted into the cloud layer above.
Despite having taken several calamity lightning strikes before, his transformed dragon body was far stronger than it had been. He still had reserves of power left.
More importantly, though, he had imagined this moment countless times in his mind.
To be blunt, he had even rehearsed his lines in private. Although he didn't get a chance to say them, he was determined to make the first rain after his evolution!
The demon clans had a legacy, and even though Kai was a dragon for the first time, controlling water was almost instinctual for a dragon.
As Kai dove into the cloud layer above, accompanied by the flickering shadow of his dragon form within the clouds, the rain that had previously weakened on the mountain gradually intensified.
The rain soon poured down heavily, once again flooding the entire mountain.
Despite this, the firefighters at the mountain base wouldn't dare to descend until they witnessed the fires being fully extinguished with their own eyes.
Kai moved through the clouds above, observing the firefighters struggling to ascend the mountain. After a fleeting thought, he decided to slightly draw away the rain from directly above them, easing their path.
Then, with a turn, he faced the remaining fire spots in the mountain and began to unleash a powerful spray, directing the rain toward the remaining embers.
The Special Security Agents, initially planning to use targeted spells to extinguish the remaining fires since they couldn't summon a heavy downpour, were caught off guard when a massive waterspout suddenly drenched them after they used a soil-based spell to suppress one of the fire spots.
It left them all soaked and a little irritated.
However, as natural reverence for dragons ran deep in Criseans, no one could harbor any ill feelings toward the diligent little dragon above the clouds.
While the group was busy working in the mountains, the villagers who had taken Montaro to the base finally discovered him.
Seeing the burns on his body, they quickly deduced where he had been earlier. Without hesitation, they rushed him to the village clinic for a checkup.
After changing into dry clothes, Montaro noticed that there were still many villagers sheltering from the rain outside the clinic. They stood under the eaves, gazing at the heavy downpour.
When Shannon arrived at the hall, she found that Thalia, along with the artifacts and their replicas, were safe, though the yard and roof had been shattered by the calamity lightning.
Well, not entirely safe.
Shannon saw Thalia holding her singed tail fur with a pained expression on her face.
It was then that she realized that, although the Antique Village had reinforced protective barriers, the sheer number of calamity lightning strikes had still taken a toll.
Thalia had managed to shield most of the damage with the barrier, but she couldn't avoid losing some of her supernatural energy. The most obvious result was the burned tail.
"Mom!" Shannon gazed worriedly at Thalia's tail.
She knew the tail of a nine-tailed fox represented its supernatural power and cultivation. She couldn't help but worry that Thalia's loss of a tail might mean a significant loss in her cultivation.
Faced with a concerned Shannon, Thalia smiled and comforted her.
