Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1868

In response to Emeralda's question, Shannon replied, "Human traffickers."

As she spoke, she opened the snakeskin sack on the ground, where a boy about three or four years old was soundly asleep.

He hadn't woken up even with all the jostling and movement. He'd likely been drugged.

Emeralda was stunned at the mention of human traffickers. But when she saw the child in the sack, her expression hardened. "He's from Floriana Village."

With that, she lifted her foot and kicked the two, who were still bound on the ground.

How dare they try to kidnap a child on her territory! They must have a death wish!

Yes, though Antique Village was built behind Floriana Village, Emeralda had always considered the village below the mountain as part of their territory. The little artifacts from Antique Village would occasionally sneak down to peek at the TVs through the villagers' windows.

Even if these two had kidnapped a child from elsewhere instead of Antique Village, they deserved no mercy as long as they were human traffickers.

After kicking the man, Emeralda turned to the woman, who cowered away with a pitiful look on her face. Without hesitation, Emeralda kicked her too.

As the two howled in pain, Kai and Montaro came running from the forest.

When Montaro saw Emeralda, he cried out in grievance, "Stone!"

Then, his eyes landed on the little boy in Shannon's arms. His previously aggrieved expression turned into one of joy. "Cowy! Give me Cowy!"

He reached forward and tried to pull at the boy, Cowen Buck. Seeing Cowen unresponsive, he grabbed his little arms and shook him. "Cowy! Cowy!"

Emeralda grabbed Montaro's arm before he could pull Cowen up. "Cowy was drugged. Take him home."

Cowen's family must be worried sick now that he'd gone missing.

Montaro immediately nodded. "I'll carry him."

"What are you doing! Let us out now!"

"This is illegal punishment and personal revenge!"

If they'd been caught kidnapping, shouldn't they be handed over to the police?

Emeralda couldn't be bothered to respond. Seeing they wouldn't shut up, she grabbed a handful of dirt and shoved it into their mouths. "Shut up."

Caught off guard, the two choked on the dirt and started spitting furiously.

Ignoring them, Emeralda pressed down on the soil to ensure they were firmly packed in. Then, she said, "We'll leave them buried for two days before calling the police."

Sending them directly to the police would be too easy on them.

Shannon had no objections. Judging from their faces, the two were likely a married couple and not part of a large trafficking ring. They'd stolen Cowen just because they wanted to raise a child themselves.
