Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1076

Caleb's suspicion was justified. After all, he had indeed detected anomalies within his body over the last two days. Although the symptoms were unlike Alex's, he couldn't shake off the feeling.

He secretly researched it and discovered that some pseudocyesis symptoms might not be as apparent as Alex's. Not only would there not be a growing belly, but one would even gradually lose weight.

Seeing how he had lost his appetite lately, he was worried he had become the target of a spell without knowing. He might not have ingested the chocolate, but he had drunk from the glass the mini demon had used!

After listening to his explanation, Shannon glanced at him, this time without apathy. She took out her cinnabar pen and told Caleb to extend his palm.

Albeit confused, he did as she told him to. She raised his hand using the pen and quickly drew a sigil onto his palm. Soon enough, clouds of supernatural energy emanated from his hand.

Shannon was somewhat surprised, muttering, "You're right this time."

Caleb flung his hand violently, causing his body to sway with it. His mind collapsed when thinking of the possibility of inheriting the same pseudocyesis symptoms as Alex.

As absurd as it sounded, Alex, at the very least, had had three kids. What about him, though? He hadn't even gotten married!

Caleb's sense of reality crumbled, the feeling synonymous with being trapped inside the robotic vacuum cleaner—utter despair.

Shannon watched his following dramatic reaction. He staggered backward two steps, then with a loud thud, collapsed onto the couch behind him, clutching his head and silently freaking out.

After staring at him for another two seconds, she slowly clarified, "Relax. It's not pseudocyesis. It's the Fenris jerboa's doing."

Shannon recalled the day when the tail of the Fenris jerboa had wrapped around him.

Though he had coughed up a few strands of its fur at that time, its supernatural energy had probably entered his body.

After a pause, he emphasized, "I'll pay you."

Faced with his shift in attitude—no longer demanding her help with such entitlement—Shannon felt mildly satisfied seeing him turn over a new leaf. Thus, she generously offered her help.

She fished out a purification talisman from her bag and passed it to him. "Eight thousand dollars, please."

Caleb couldn't help but feel moved by that low price. Without hesitation, he made the transaction on his phone and took the talisman.

Once he touched it, he could distinctly feel the fatigue plaguing him for days lift off him. Then, he kept the talisman safe.

After some thought, he glanced at her. "The, uh… The shielding talisman you gave me has lost its power. Can you sell me another one? It'd be better if I had one of those emerald pendants like Scott has."
