Shannon found Benjamin's answer unconvincing. He had never been free for as long as she knew him.
Given that he had to shoulder the massive Cooper family business on his own, while constantly guarding against other members' attempts to make a comeback, he could never afford to relax, let alone be free.
Still, she didn't want to expose him. "Alright, I'll see how it goes."
Shannon gave him a few more talismans, including an anti-malice one. He might not necessarily need them, but she had to ensure he gave his golden light a rest for the time being.
After explaining a few more things, she finally left the Cooper residence. It wasn't until she arrived home that she remembered the purpose of her visit—Yvette's message.
"Never mind. I'll do it next time."
…
Benjamin stood in the foyer, watching her leave. Meanwhile, Julian looked on anxiously, wanting to ask something, but afraid to probe.
Before he could voice his question, Benjamin piped up flatly. "Notify all the children over the age of ten from the branch family to meet me here tomorrow."
Julian was shocked. Since taking over as the head of the family, Benjamin had never allowed anyone to visit the Cooper residence. Why the sudden need to meet the children?
Despite his confusion, he didn't probe further and grunted in response before making the notice.
Benjamin didn't care if making the calls at this hour disrupted anyone's peace of mind. After all, some things needed to be arranged ahead of time.

Meanwhile, Yvette returned to the White residence at about 10:00 pm. For once, Leonel sat in the living room and waited for her. When he saw her, he asked, "I heard that kiddo from the Jensens came looking for you at the company. What was that for?"
Yvette walked toward the living room and sat on the couch across from him. Immediately, someone served her a glass of warm milk.
"The Jensens, Coopers, and Gibsons were all present yesterday except for the Whites. Do you know what that means?"
"What?" he instinctively asked.
"It means the other three families have excluded you. Everyone went except for you. Nobody would think you're too good to attend; they'd only think we've been ostracized."
After finishing her words, Yvette looked on with satisfaction as Leonel's brows twitched violently. "Therefore, you should be glad that I went yesterday."
She waved and added, "No need to thank me."
Without a care of how he would lash out, she headed upstairs. Once she returned to her room, she plopped onto her massage chair.
Within two seconds, she straightened her back, pulled out her phone, and looked at the contact name labeled "Wright". After composing herself, she finally dialed his number.
