Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1024

As the group left Ziva's interrogation room, Triston suddenly asked, "Don't you want to check on Cecily? She's in a pretty bad state right now."

Perhaps still high on alert against Ziva, Caleb immediately rejected the idea without a second thought. "No way!"

Triston gave him a look and awkwardly clarified. "I was asking Shan."

Caleb didn't know how he should respond.

Shannon understood that Triston must want to discuss the aftermath of forcibly severing the face swap. She was curious about the result itself, so she nodded. "Sure. Let's go take a look."

Seeing how straightforward she was, Caleb felt his refusal had been overly dramatic. He quickly added, "I'll come along too."

It wasn't because he had any lingering feelings for Cecily. He just wanted to see what she looked like now.

Shannon eyed Caleb and resisted the urge to send him away. Then, Triston led them to another room.

Unlike Ziva's room, Cecily's room was sealed off with a glass window. They could see the person within from outside.

The moment Shannon laid eyes on Cecily in the room, she froze. Caleb reflectively took a step back and pointed at the figure in the room with disbelief in his voice. "Are you saying she's Cecily?"

Triston wasn't surprised by Caleb's reaction. After all, Cecily's current appearance was far from ordinary.

"When we found her in Ziva's rented apartment, she already looked like this." Cecily was indeed in a pitiful state as Triston had described.

The face swap had affected her soul, but changes to the soul would also be manifested in the appearance. From their angle, Cecily appeared faceless as Ziva had mostly taken her face.

For mystic masters, such counterspells were rare, but they must know at least something when encountered.

Simply put, counterspells were like rare medical conditions that might never show up, but they had to be understood and resolved.

Triston added, "I know you've deeply researched talismanic arts, so would you like to join us in the research? Senior mystic masters have methods of breaking spells that differ greatly from what's taught in schools."

He'd proposed this out of his admiration for Shannon and his belief that she'd benefit from the process, but Shannon turned down his offer without a second thought.

"While I do enjoy studying talismanic arts, my identity does not make me a good fit for direct involvement."

In truth, she simply didn't want to join. Cecily had caused the Jensen family so much trouble, and Shannon thought she was forgiving not to add punishment on the former. Helping her recover was out of the question.
