Heiress Unmasked: Shaking the World With Geomancy novel Chapter 1007

In truth, Ziva's power of words wasn't about creating emotions out of thin air. It was more akin to a potent form of hypnosis guiding and amplifying feelings buried within people's hearts.

For example, most guests knew that Shannon wasn't to blame for the carousel incident, but they couldn't deny that they were here for her birthday party.

They all had high social standings, and experiencing such an event was unsettling. Though they expressed understanding, a faint trace of irritation lingered deep within them.

That was the subtle emotion Ziva exploited, and the same principle applied to Caleb who'd been influenced.

Even if the guests didn't voice their dissatisfaction, Adam understood that the birthday party was effectively ruined. He didn't care about what the guests thought, but he was furious that Shannon's first birthday party after her return to the Jensens ended in such a mess.

There was little point in salvaging the situation and getting the guests to stay. He was about to end the party with a straight face when Benjamin stepped forward.

He took Shannon's hand as if declaring ownership and addressed the crowd, "Thank you all for attending my fiancée’s birthday party…"

The word fiancée dropped like a bomb. The shock was no different from the sight Shannon had brought by striking Alaric down with lightning.

Everyone's attention turned to him, including Shannon's. She turned to Benjamin, and her eyes were wide with disbelief.

Wasn't she supposed to be her girlfriend? When had she gotten promoted?

Benjamin glanced at her and made no effort to correct himself. Instead, he continued saying, "It seems there was a minor mishap earlier, but the night is still young. Please take some time to rest, and the birthday party will resume in an hour."

His voice wasn't too loud, but it carried an unshakable authority. The weight of his words was undeniable and made it clear that what'd just happened was nothing more than a small incident, just because he said so.

Many guests froze in disbelief at recognizing the incomer. It was Wyatt, the acknowledged heir to the Gibsons, one of Seastone City's four most prestigious families.

The Gibsons had long been at odds with the Jensens, and yet Wyatt was here attending the birthday party of a Jensen descendent. And from the looks of it, it seemed he was here just for Shannon.

The crowd was instantly abuzz with excitement.

Three of Seastone City's four most prestigious families were gathered in one place. That was a rare occurrence indeed!

Now the guest wouldn't leave even if asked to stay for two more hours. In fact, they wouldn't leave even if they were driven out.
