Chapter Five

He looks up and sees Sahaan looking here and there, fiddling with her fingers

nervously.

Amusement flashes through his eyes.

"Are you going to stand there all day? I don’t have time to waste. Be quick otherwise you can see yourself out.” his voice booms in the office, making her flinch.

"Um… Actually, my mother called me. Why aren’t you picking up your phone? If you had, then I wouldn’t have to come all the way here into a lion's den. I don’t like seeing you either,” she mutters under her breath, hoping he doesn’t hear her.

But she was clearly heard by him. He tries to suppress the smile erupting.

"What? What did you say?" Ahmed asks loudly

She shrieks even more, trying to disappear into the walls.

"Amrah’s future in-laws are coming to set the wedding date. Your mother called you,but you didn’t pick up. Anyway, my mother called me and asked to tell you as well since you aren’t answering the phone.” she stops talking when she realizes she was going to blabber all day long.

Heat creeps up her face, turning her face red. She tries to hide her embarrassment, but fails.

She looks down and peeks at him by raising her eyes towards him. His face is blank, but amusement shines in his eyes.

Embarrassed, she rushes out of his office.

Ahmed looks at her retreating back.Her scarf flows backwards. He chuckles at her antics and gets up to leave.

The dress is pastel green and embroidered at the ends. The scarf is peach pink with straight pants.

She quickly puts on the clothes and covers her head with her scarf as she leaves the room.

Sahaan carefully walks downstairs. She is surprised when she sees someone smile at her.

"Aunt!” she yells in joy as she rushes to hug her aunt.

"When did you arrive? You didn't tell me you were coming. You should’ve called me,”Sahaan hugs her aunt tightly, her Father had one more brother who lives in Canada with his whole family and now they were here to attend Amrah's wedding.

"If I had told you, then it wouldn’t have been a surprise,” her aunt laughs lightly.

"Fatty! I’m also here. Or did you forget me?”Sahaan turns towards the husky male voice.
